Proverbs 16:20
New King James Version (NKJV)
20 (S)He who heeds the word wisely will find good,
And whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is (s)he.
Rev. Mike Benson, during the Holiness Summit in Keene last week, reminded us to be in the word faithfully. This is essential if we desire to be like Jesus. And not just read it, but to take time, dwell in it and let God speak to us while we are there. He called it "gaze time." You know how it is when you gaze at something - your eyes cannot turn away, you feel drawn to the object, and most likely there is some sense of wonder, and perhaps you learn something or see something in a new light, gain a greater understanding, or are affirmed and strengthened in something you already know. When we gaze into God's word, we are encouraged and enabled.
I can hear Dr. Benson say again to us, "Tell me about your gaze time."
Have you had your "gaze time" today? How does your gaze time sustain you as you seek health and wholeness?

This reminds me of the verse, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" Matthew 4:4 Thank you, Lord, for the Bread of Life!0
