Sure they are jawless and armless, but why aren't they relentlessly trying to attack and eat her? I didn't think zombies could learn anything, so I would expect them to keep trying and trying in vain. They are zombies after all! Any explanation, maybe from the comic (which I've never read)?

her boyfriend Mike and his best friend Terry. Both in shackles and having had their jaws and arms cut off, Michonne mentions that after a while they stopped trying to attack her and their presence decreased the chances of other zombies attacking

Here is something else that might help explain it... http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/08/24/the-walking-dead-danai-gurira-michonne-pets/

So this implies they are capable of some sort of "learning" or "conditioning". Interesting.

I know... The whold pet thing really bugged me, and thought the show would provide some answers in last nights episode. I wonder if these zombies will be eliminated when they go to the community. They are really quite creepy.

I did think it was funny that the one zombies face ripped off when they pulled off the helmet.
