This week it is a miles challenge. Set a number of miles to do be it walk/run/bike etc... and try and beat it. Make sure you make it a challenge I know I will be doing.

As we will hopefully be covering a lot of distance between us it is important to keep up with the water intake as well so that is the weeks second challenge to have eight glasses of water a day.

There will be another weigh in at the end of the week so try your best to avoid cheat meals/days so that we can meet our goals.

Good luck everybody !!

This is one that I can do BOTH and excel. My goal is 3 miles/day, so that's 21 miles!

Thank God for my treadmill, our weather has been hot/cold (literally) here in No Cal.

Good luck everybody. See you at next week's weigh in!

I already have this copied to my October spreadsheet... yes, I am an Excel junkie :'(.

8 glasses a day I can do easily. Last week for some reason though, I had a lot of trouble with it.
I am setting my walking up to 5 mi/day. I have been shooting for 4/day the last month and meeting it, so it's time to UP the walking!

Nice challenge to get me firmly back on the wagon. I fell off it with such a bump last week So, onwards and upwrds. :grumble:

Will get some mileage down. Last time we did a mileage challenge I lost loads of weight as I think it mixed up my routine a fair bit. Forecast mild here (Sheffield, UK) for this week before the blast of arctic air sets in so I have no reason not to get my @rse outside running.

    Good luck all

Another good challenge! I do mainly classes for my workouts and therefore not a great way to figure out miles/distance. However, part of my plan for the next few months was to keep up with my running and run 5km (3.1 miles) once a week. So for this weeks challenge, although it doesn't seem like much, I have challenged myself to run twice! So on top of my 3 classes this week I will get on my treadmill and run on Sunday and either Thursday or Friday this week. If I get a chance to do any walking in the meantime I guess that's a bonus. Thank you for always coming up with a 2 part challenge! I like that you've incorporated both diet and exercise each week.

Okay, I have been doing a lot of swimming and water jogging, so will make sure I get on the treadmill or elliptical for at least 5 30 minute sessions. In 30 minutes, I can go about 2 miles so will set my goal for 10 miles this week. I will continue to do my strength stuff, swim and get in 3 golf sessions to round out my vacation in Myrtle Beach. Having fun with this challenge.

Great challenge. I do cardio 6 days a week but really haven't been keeping track of miles. On strength days, I incorporate it into my cycle. Cardio, core, specific area..repeat times 3 or 4 (according to how I feel).

Mileage challenges are hard for me as I always have my kids and setting a pace with three in tow is hard to do. I usually do workout videos so I have no idea how to measure distance. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will try to get some walks in. I have an HRM but no pedometer.

If you can, pick up a cheap pedometer. You can get one at Walmart for $5. Clip it on your sock and off you go!! I do that and I'm amazed at how much I walk!!! Good luck!

I have a fitbit, it's pretty accurate. It also tells me how many calories I burn. It's kept me on track and helped me meet my goals

I didn't even walk a portion of a mile for exercise this week, I failed miserably  . But I did burn a good deal of calories, drink at least 64 ozs of water a day and had my fruits and veggies, so I'm not too down.
