Hi everyone,
I'm new to this group and having thought about the question, "What should we discuss on day two?", I am wondering how many of you weigh daily, and what type of scales you all use?
And, thanks for inviting me into your group. I hope I can contribute after I've been here a few days and have learned the "flavor" of the group!

Elaine, due to a heart condition I have to weigh daily to keep my sodium levels in check. Do I want to do this and do I like it? Nope, too much fluid fluctuation from day to day ~ if I took the scale number to heart (pardon the pun) I would feel down a lot of the time. So I just mark the number down and carry on ... :ohwell: :drinker:

I can see where this group is going to be a bonus to my MFP community. I just got back on after being away on my honeymoon. Now that I am no longer alone it is going to be a new challenge to maintain my loss and continue to my goal. I think the addition of this group will help keep me on the road to continued success! Thank you for the invitation! I accept!0

I weight a few times a week to keep me on track.0

Just got the invite and joined.
As for weighing in.....
When I started out it was an everyday thing. Sometimes twice. Once in the morning and when I got home from work.
Now that I have reached goal I do it once a week just to keep on track. Sometimes I check during the week....force of habit.
On Friday I went to the Food&Wine and All That Jazz festival they have here in GR twice a year. I tossed caution and the "diet" to the wind for the night. I weighed before I left....I ate what I felt like and tried all the wines that sounded good and a few just because the labels where really cool looking. I just did my normal weigh-in and found a .5 loss. I was thinking to see a gain but I guess I did not do as bad as I thought with the food. Plus with all the walking and doing the stairs I figured that helped. Tons of people were using the elevators. It was a three floor building.
I have a problem with fluid retention also. I have lymphomia in the legs so need to keep track of sodium levels also.
Thanks for the invite and glad to be here!

I weigh myself every day. I'm on maintenance and I'm afraid of gaining like I have done so many times before.0

CONGRATULATIONS, FITATFIFTYFIVE, I hope you have years of bliss in your new marriage. I weigh myself on fridays, it's about all I can handle, lol0

I take the body test on the Wii daily, but I do find that weight fluctuations are great from day to day. I do a weekly weigh in on the scale in my bathroom and for the past few years I've been maintaining in approximately the 130 range, one week up a pound, the next down. So I use the weekly weigh in as my "official" weight.

exermom, what is a "body measurement" on the WII? Is that a special program you use sorta like "just dance"?0
-
I used to weigh daily but not as frequent now as the scale has not been my friend.
I'm hoping to make peace with it again real soon.0 -
Yep! I weigh daily! I am more fascinated by the fluctuations than frustrated. Of course..when I am on a 3 month or longer plateau...then heck yea! I get frustrated!
I guess I had a friend tell me about her dad weighing daily...when the scale fluctuated a great deal (say 5lbs or higher), he knew to cut out the late night ice cream runs and add a little more exercise. He never let it get away from him that way.
I am about 7 to 9 lbs away from my UGW.
I just remember when I use to weigh every once in awhile and the weight "crept" up..I would look in the mirror and tell myself it wasn't that bad...then BAM! you're up 20 lbs.:explode: Weighing daily just helps me monitor progress as well as keeps me honest! I also lilke trying to figure out if a 3 lbs gain over a weekend is caused by what sodium monster I ate!!
It works for me..and I think that is what is key here....

I weigh daily and pretend not to (meaning I only record twice weekly weigh in's). I use a digital scale.0
