Xbox Dashboard Updates

I am so full of rage over the recent updates Xbox has had.

"Here! Have an update! We squeezed EVEN MORE boxes full of adds and other non gaming related bull**** to your dashboard!!"

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some additional features on my consoles and I'm not dumb enough to not understand what they are doing here and why....but my console should first and foremost be that - A GAMING CONSOLE. I just don't agree with what they are doing.

It's so frustrating for me....clearly....

Opinions? Agree/Disagree/Dont Give a ****?

    Yeah Im with you all the way! I HATE the new dashboard even more than I have hated the last several new dashboards

    It's BS for sure. I wouldn't mind the ads so much if they were gaming ads. But why do i care about gum, or a new TV show, or whatever when i'm in the mindset to play games?

    The whole Dashboard idea is poo. Why does Windows 8, Windows phone, Surface, and my xBox all have to look the same? WHY?!?!?!?! So what if Apple does it, that doesn't mean you need too as well. Ugh...

    Getting rid of the FB/twitter apps was fine, and Smart Glass will be kinda cool. IE 9 on my xBox is ok i guess, except it doesn't support Flash (no surprise), and has the potential to now open up your console to viruses. Great... I tried surfing last night for S&G's and i had a pop-up take me to another site. I was like WTF? Really?

    On a side note, my xBox does "boot" faster then it did. Not that it matters so long as there is no loss of performance in the gameplay.

    Yeah I agree.. Updated it yesterday and was like "Wow! More boxes...! Oh and IE9. :o" I miss the old old dashboard thing, before all these boxes came onto the scene.

    I was one of the people that recieved the update early... As much as I hate all the crap and ads crammed everywhere I do like the apps they're adding in because I don't have my computer where I live... It would be cool if you could have an option to update the dashboard instead of being kicked off in the middle of the online game your playing to update more ads for subway ..

    As many perceived shortcomings as people say the PS3 has, the minimalist approach to the crossbar Sony uses is awesome IMO. I don't see ads until I go into the store, which is great.

    I'll be turning on my 360 here in a few weeks for Halo 4 tho, so I expect once I have installed the required dashboard updates, I'll be hating the interface even more.

    They should give silver users the ability to play online and have the dash we have now, the paying customer should get an ad free dash! That would be cool IMO. I would still pay haha

    At least they made it Home>Social>Games> all the other crap I never use. I hated it before when I had to go past video and TV(wtf it's not even offered where I live) just to get to my games!

    I will still play my xbox over my PS3 anyday though...

    They are trying to standardize the UI on their products. Windows phone, Xbox, and Windows 8. If you think Xbox is frustrating, wait until you try Windows 8 on the computer...

    :( I think I might have a nightmare tonight.. lol.. Maybe they make everything look the same for old people who can't find everything.

    It took me a few minutes to get to the Netflix app. Other than that, nope, the new update didn't bother me one bit.

    I couldn't agree with this statement more. I am bombared by ads everywhere I go. I don't want them on the dashboard that I am paying for. Unless it is game related.

    I am not looking forward to that... I may start using Linux full time now

    Exactly. Like I said, some stuff I understand, but give me a break. It's just excessive.
