Makes me so miserable. Summer was too short. :( I wanna go outsiiiiiiiiide.

Anyone else's workout been scared indoors by the impending doom that is snow? Or do you guys have any winter activities planned for workouts?

I know what you mean... But strange enough, it motivates me to workout since there is nowhere else better to be outside lol. I usually workout at home or gym anyway =)

For me, this is getting to the hard part of the year. Darker days, cold, tons of chocolate and comfort food around... I have a great home gym, and I still try to get to the "real" gym a few times a week as well, but I can feel my motivation start to wane. If anyone is looking for a workout partner in Riverbend, let me know!

I miss the warm weather. So freakin' sue me for not welcoming winter with open arms.

I always say if I were a skier this snow would make me happy. This season I'm committing to trying out Snow Valley at least ONCE.

Try a swimming pool. It can take your mind off the cold, if only for a while. We went to the new Terwillegar one (but prefer Bonnie Doon's hot pool and steam room to theirs -ha!)

That sounds like a good idea! I haven't skiied in years... swimming would be good, too!

I just looked up what kind of burn I'd get by going sledding. Holy crap! That'd be good, too.

Lol. I was just saying to my fiance last night that I should probably log scraping ice off my car as an exercise. Seriously, that *kitten*'s tough on the arms!

Just logged shoveling the snow at work. And I might get to do it again later. Never thought I'd look forward to shoveling snow, haha.

Hope you're all staying safe in this weather.

I found these wonderful grippers that go over your shoes/boots and make for great traction on the ice. They're called Get A Grip by Due North, found at Costco for 12.99. They are the ones with little spikes. I've used Yak Trax before but they didn't last long walking on rock chips. I think the posties use the spikey ones. I could even jog (across the street) with confidence.

These are some other cleats I could find.

Happy that the weather is looking up for this next week... this snow has made me so depressed. I feel like I've already started decending into hibernation mode.

Ahh, Snow Valley. Some very good times spent there when I was a kid. Maybe I should go back sometime this year.

hey all, yep count me in with those missing summer! i'm a summer baby with seasonal issues though so it's a big deal to make sure i get out when the sun is shining no matter how damn cold it is, also doesn't help that i'm from vancouver island!
LOL for those doing the outside 'aerobics!' would love to see hrm differences! my normal walk to the store is around 400 cals, add a wagon and 2 yr old and the unshovelled sidewalks and i'm up to over 600 cals for the same trip! so wishing i had transportation, seven hills for sledding is a blast!

Okay, okay, maybe it's just because I'd rather watch the Grey Cup game and sip on my Gibson's than ski. So sad to see the CFL season end.
