Hey guys! So I know it is not recommended to binge drink on Metformin because of the risk of lactic acidosis, but what is acceptable? Maybe 2 drinks and no more than that? Also, if say, I WANTED to binge drink (I'm a college kid and graduation is coming up...) then is it safe if I stop taking my meds a couple of days before? I've stopped drinking in general because of the weight loss, but it sucks that if I want to drink more than a drink or two for a celebration, that I have to worry about LA.
Also, I just hate Metformin. Can't believe how sick it makes me. Just saying.

I've had more than that. Not gonna tell you how much because I don't want to encourage you. I didn't know it was LA though. I thought it was one of those whole "intensifying the effects things", not that I looked much into it. I will just say that when you are at your college homecoming, you're not always reading your labels. Oops!0

I didn't realize it was as serious as LA... but I know from my experience with having just a few glasses of wine with Metformin, it definitely intensifies the side effects. I'll be in the bathroom all night if I drink. I usually skip my dose of Metformin the night I drink, but don't make a habit of it!0
