"With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts." -- Eleanor Roosevelt
When I started my journey not quite a year ago, I never dreamed I would find the strongest body of my life. It has changed every part of my life and made me excited about Act II. ;c)
What gives you strength? What have you come to realize on your journey?

Knowing now that I control my eating and food, it doesn't control me. I used to eat emotionally and out of boredom, I don't do that at all anymore and that is SO exciting.
I realized that as I became more confident in my weight loss/healthier lifestye journey that I also became more confident in my work life too. I became more daring to take on and lead projects that in the past would have freaked me out. I'm about 3/4 the way through a arge project and I'm already wondering what might be next!0 -
"The key is to keep company only with people who uplift you, whose presence calls forth your best." -- Epictetus
Did I mention I was a philosophy major? ;c)
What's going to make today especially SUPER???0 -
If I can get a nap in? :P
Seriously, if I can get to the store and make meal plans for the week, its going to be very busy for me this week, and busy generally equals not eating as well.0 -
I totally agree with you ,Alice. I have always had so many negative people in my life, and I could literally feel the life and confidence being sucked right out of me. My husband said my whole personality chaged when I was around certain people. He could come home and say, "Kim was here today, wasn't she"? He just knew because of my mood and body language. I like to hang with my grandkids, ages 13 down to 1!!!!!hahaa That is what makes me happy, and gets me thru things.0

I have self affirmations and meditate for short periods to help give me strength as well as take pleasure in the company of the positive people I love :-)0

"If you want to conquer fear, don't sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy." -- Dale Carnegie
I'm really looking forward to doing pilates for the third day in a row (usually always take a breather).
What's on your agenda?0 -
BodyPump already done, making some christmas cards this afternoon; seems a bit early, but work will be too busy by the time December is here. Was planning on running before dinner, but there's lumpy rain out there at the moment :noway:0

"lumpy rain." I love that!0 -
Finished my ChaLean lifting already, have a roast cooking in the crockpot for dinner tonight while we watch are Wildcats go to 10-0, and working around the house and yard! I love weekend days when we don't have any appointments or commitments.
On to a good housecleaning now! Everyone have an Awesome Saturday!0 -
I have been surprised at my self control and willpower. I haven't eaten processed sugar for more than a year and a half now and have no trouble turning down my old favorite desserts when offered. (Now I need to apply that to a few other pitfalls!) I have been going vegetarian/vegan for a few months and really not missing a lot of the foods I used to eat. I guess feeling better has taken over my "want that food now" part of the brain!0

I just completed an hour bike ride outside in my driveway on my bike trainer. I know, sounds weird but I love to be outside looking at the greenery/nature, watching kids play, etc. I have my bike on a trainer and listen to music and just love it. Beautiful day here. I don't bike outside otherwise, too many big hills and not too bike friendly as far as traffic.
Now, gotta get the wash done.0 -
Alice, thank you for your quote today!!
I am so grateful to MFP and to be part of this community!
Real people, real stories. I feel motivated and now I am learning to be nice to me. I used to be too hard on myself, kind of: all or nothing...
Now, I take use my "mistakes" as learning opportunities. I love myself more, and I really believe that this is helping me to reach my goal in life: live 100 years, healthy and lucid.
Thank you my friends... Your words, examples and real lives mean a lot to me0 -
I upped my cardio by 15 minutes today and started a new yoga routine. It feels so good to be progressing well in my healthy life journey and love support and suggestions of those on MFP and in this group0
