I just re-painted my room and bathroom, so I'm cleaning out my closet in the process. I have way too many shoes, but of course cannot force myself to give up even 1 pair. I might need them. Honestly, you never know when you need a pair of purple snake skin stilletos (yes I do own these). My current system involves boots under the bed in boxes, high heels on a shoe rack, and flats scattered about. I want to find a better solution so that I can SEE all of my shoes, and still not take up tons of space. I forget I have shoes for a while because they get buried. So ladies, how do you organize your shoes and closets?

    I don't have much a variety, but I have a ton of flats that I wear for work.

    I have them on a shoe rack at the bottom of my closet.

    Look into something like ClosetMaid system. They have a lot of really good options and you can customize your space on their website.

    i was a lucky lucky girl last christmas and my dad built me a bookcase, floor to ceiling and fills an entire wall of my room, the one column is narrower than the rest and is just for shoes :D boots, pretty heels and special shoes live on the main shelves, flats live in the bottom kind of piled up
    and my summer shoes go away with my summer clothes for winter

    both great suggestions ladies thanks.

    i have an extra book case that i'm not using and i never thought of splittings the shelves in half to fit more. smart man your dad!
