I just signed up for the same sprint triathlon I did this summer, and now the entry fee is $70!

Is it just me or is that little steep??

I'm in PA, and that's about what I've experienced. Actually, I think that's on the low end here -- depending on the organizer.

I do think it is steep, but I have paid it! Triathlons are expensive.......in so many ways!

That's about the average here. Well organized sprints are around $85ish and the poorly done ones are around $60

I think I usually pay in the $80-$90 range.

Have to sign up so early to get that rate around here. I'm happy if I can keep it under $100

    Sprint: $60-80
    Olympic: $125-160
    HIM: $200-350
    IM: $600-950

It all depends on where the race is held, how many roads need to be blocked, permiting, etc...

Take the IM in NYC...lots of traffic to control so you need for police...$900 is the price you pay for riding next to skyscrapers.

That is about the going rate for them mostly because of traffic control, liability and then there is the additional $10 for a USAT sanctioned event. Find one with a good T-shirt or swag bag it makes the sting a little less.
