GOAL: strong, lean and fit. toned everything and flat abs; just being thin isn't a goal.. just being in better shape and looking awesome is, and shedding this unnessary fat.
I'm not sure where to start or even if now is the best time to start. I don't have gym access and I only have 5# and 25# dumbbells at home. I'm eating a decifit so mfp has me eating 1400 calories. I will be taking gym classes in January once a week but it's not equippted with the typical gym equiptment... I don't think. I'm a weak and lifting 25# is a serious challange and some moves I just can't do so I switch up with my 5# barbie weight. I no longer care about the scale, not too much any way, I'm more concerend about achieving my goal stated above. I read the first couple pages and it mentions it's a 6 month program so I figure if I want to be bikini ready by summer I must start now and the month just began.
I usually do workout dvds and I'm currently as of yesterday doing bob haprers total body transformaton and it's a killer and it uses dumbbells and I planned on switching dvds each month... until I saw this.
thoughts?

This program requires either a membership to a gym that has the required equipment or a fairly significant investment in your home gym You basically need access to a squat rack, bench, bar bell and weight plates. It's basically 5 different lifts. That's it. It's very simple but pretty much impossible to do without the right equipment.0

Stick with bob harper for now (you're gonna need a couple more dumbells though - you need like a 10 and 15 at least) until you stop seeing changes. Then you can come back and see if you're ready to try something that needs more equipment.
I mean, I'm not gonna lie - I think that barbell compounds are great but you don't seem ready to go there yet -- and that's totally FINE, when you're ready (if you ever want to) you can come back.0 -
I meant that I only have 5# and 15# dumbbells, not 25. I couldn't even lift 25# dumbell if i did I really stuggled with it let alone workout with it. 15# is a stuggle too it's no joke for me some moves I can't do with it so use the 5#. anyway, thanks so much for answering, when do you think I'll be ready to try out the program regimine? I'm thinking I should probably get a trainer before I do an that'll be a very long while.. if ever.
another note, what will get me strong enough to use barbells? and do you think the dvd will help me achieve my goal? especially too get fat abs? btw it's not an ab dvd it's total body and abs aren't focused.0 -
There are a great deal of body-weight workouts out there (Nerd Ftiness has a great one) to get you started.0

I hate going to the gym, so I bought a home gym to do SL with (power rack, bench, bar, and weights) it cost 600ish. That was pretty cheap stuff too, my equipment gets the job done but it isnt exactly gym material. Unless you truly hate the gym, I suggest getting to the gym more often if you want to do SL. It was worth it for me, but it was crazy pricy. Or just keep doing your videos. You could check these out too, I used to do them and I got good results; http://www.youtube.com/user/ZuzkaLight?feature=g-user-u0
