Urgh New scales

So what happens when you get new scales and stand on them and they tell you a different story? I know I weighed on them after I had already weighed in for the week and at a totally different time of day. Why do I feel so thoroughly defeated? Does it mean I was actually that much heavier when I started??? EKKKKKKKKK

No, different scales are calibrated differently - that is why it is generally best just to use the same scale and weigh yourself in the same or similar clothes the same time every day. That way the number is consistant. Typically you weigh ~5lbs heavier in the evening, is that because you ate 5lbs of food? Absolutely not, but if you weighed your self at the end of the day everyday - that would be your constant weight. It keeps you sane that way. I can be 2 lbs heavier on a totally different scale; you just don't know which one is accurate. Just go with the one that you use on a daily basis and keep you numbers from their. Since its a new scale, you now have a new number - that can either be great news or extremely depressing, I know - just keep your head up. You're doing fabulously!!

I never wear pants when I weigh myself. LOL TMI or not enough? But different scales will tell you a different story!

Also my mom wasn't seeing anything moving on her BROKEN scale and when I got her to use my fancy digital one that's new she showed a 7 pound weightloss since she started using the site. So keep your head up, it'll start falling off you if you continue!

Ok so I bit the bullet and put in the weight the new scales are showing. Benefits: It shows a higher cal burn for exercise
Negative: It shows less weight loss. Oh well more incentive to work harder. And I did. Instead of coming home right from work, I made a detour past the swimming pool and did 35 min of breast stroke...... just under 600 cal burn... nice. Now to get off my sext large backside and eat........ mmmmmmmm so many calories to eat and so few planned for dinner...... maybe I should pig out on rice and fruit tonight? Thanks for the encouragement

I never wear anything. LOL. I always weigh myself right before my shower. Except last night after working out I decided to weigh myself just to see what the result was. I was heavier than I was when I started MFP... Epic fail. I'll see what I actually weigh on Saturday morning in my birthday suit.

I don't wear anything either. I did an experiment once where I weighed myself with clothes+shoes and then weighed myself naked. There was a 2 pound difference.
