So, do Americans eat bacon rolls, or just sammiches?? Or do you call a roll a sandwich?
I had the most awesome bacon, coleslaw and tomato roll last night and just had to ask..............

OMG the dating dilemmas!! Why did no one warn me?
OK slight exaggeration but you get the drift..... :ohwell:
I'm good thanks. The new job has taken over my life. I read a Bernstein quote today:"To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan, and not quite enough time." Well I have the latter in spades so have got planning. Means getting up mega early (for me) to work from home and fit the swim in on the way in to work. We'll see - has to be better than trying and failing every day
Enjoy your work day - go sell girl!! :drinker:0 -
Americans want to put bacon in/on everything. I mean EVERYTHING. Rolls are no exception.0
-
Mmmmm bacon... oh Anna, you tease0

I think I'm the odd ball on MFP on this one.... Bacon is only OK to me, and that's if you get the quality stuff. Most of it just crisps up to the point you could call it a cracker.0

mmmm, bacon! I love bacon, gonna have some for breakfast this morning with eggs.0

You need back bacon, not streaky, fatty stuff!
I just had a bacon roll for lunch.....Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :bigsmile:0 -

I've had it all... it's ok and I'm not giving it any better consideration. Now a steak sandwich is where it's at.0 -

You're not alone! I don't even eat it... It's not worth it to me.0 -
Newsflash: British bacon is nothing like American bacon. If you order a BLT in London, you will be disappointed...
Now, back to your regular thread.

Of course. The pig in Charlotte's Web spoke with an American accent. The pigs in Animal Farm were distinctly British...
But the proof is in the pudding: just look at the picture you posted. The bacon is all fat, and much thicker than a typical American slice. American bacon also has a completely different texture and taste.
Again, you've been warned...

Our bacon isn't like your bacon, sadly. I'd say your bacon is like Canadian Bacon and so much tastier. Ours cooks up CRISPY and it's fattier...but all in all bacon is good food!0

This is my breakfast - marmalade on toast - Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!0 -
Bacon is usually only on sandwich bread in the states. We call them BLT's or Clubs (which would be in combo with ham/turkey/cheese). I think if American's didn't know any better they'd be disappointed to get bacon in England because it wouldn't be what they were EXPECTING. But after actually eating it they will never want american bacon again...
Edit...seriously, Anna, you are making me hungry. Stop that with all those wonderful pics of food I can't have...LOL :laugh:0 -
I am obsessed with Bacon. A Bacon fanatic if you please. Bacon makes everything better. I have had everything from a bacon burger (patty made from ground bacon instead of beef), to bacon ice cream to bacon beer. Most of it I make myself. If you have heard of it, I have tried it. Even bacon mints and toothpaste.
I very much want to try bacon lube, but alas, no willing volunteers.
I even did a platform speech about bacon mania competitively when I was on the speech and debate team.
F*cking love bacon. All of it.0 -
@P - Are you saying that you'd be disappointed having a BLT in London or in America? There seem to be conflicting reports.....lol
Not that the thread is about who's bacon is superior, I just wanted to know if you have ROLLS as opposed to SARNIES!!! :laugh:0 -

It's funny how bacon is prepared differently throughout the world. If you order bacon at any latin American restaurant, you'll get this (which is delicious BTW). It's all pork belly.. but prepared and cut very differently.0

Ooooooooo I love pork belly too!! That looks yummy Mike :bigsmile:0
