Yeah that's weird.. how much pizza was actually left?
If I was taking leftovers on a first date, I would definitely offer to split them.0 -
No to taking leftovers on the first date. That's more of a third date and later kind of thing.0

Don't take leftovers?! WTF why?? That's such a frivolous waste of food!
What kind of bad impression does that even leave? "I don't like to be wasteful" sounds way better than "UGH, I am ABOVE such poor person tendencies."
EDIT: Typo...0 -
A question to some of the ladies on here.. is taking home leftovers on the first date worse than using a coupon? Would it be the ultimate turnoff if I did both?0
-
Lol, lunch was good. We went to this nice Italian place and shared a pizza. He took the leftovers home though and didn't offer me any. Punk!
Do y'all take leftovers home on 1st date??
I usually don't eat on first dates, so this isn't an issue.
If I were eating a full meal, I'd offer her the leftovers.
Usually, when I eat, I finish the portion in front of me.
The leftovers is part of why it is a good idea not to introduce food (beyond appetizers) to a first date.0 -

Leftovers usually aren't an issue here... I eat all of my food... Pretty much every time.
Okay. Every time.0 -
I was actually thinking more of the female perspective. I've found it rare that the man doesn't clean his plate when we go out to eat! I wouldn't find it all that masculine for a guy to be carrying around half a piece of steak and some leftover mashed potatoes in a styrofoam container for the remainder of our date.0

Kit, totally agree with you on this!
Funny, I just remembered that I broke both "rules" on a 3rd date about a month ago ... we used a Groupon and got pizza. At the end, there was plenty left so we asked the server to split it and we each took home leftovers. There were other things that didn't interest me about him, but I really liked that that date was so go-with-the flow.0 -

Because most restaurants make parking so inconvenient that the car is no where near the entry/exit?
I think this is one of those things where people tend to way over think in this group. This is why first dates are so nerve racking. I think some of my most relaxed first dates were ones where I knew very soon I wasn't interested in a second date. I became much more relaxed because I didn't worry about every action/word being dissected and analyzed. I just said and did what I wanted to and didn't worry about the consequences. There is probably some country boy out there telling his friends that this girl was the type that she probably went online to discuss him taking leftovers home.0 -

Because I live in the city, so 99% of the time we get around via taxi or walking on dates. My view might be different if I lived in the suburbs and I was meeting a guy at a restaurant for a first date and his car was parked right outside.Funny, I just remembered that I broke both "rules" on a 3rd date about a month ago ... we used a Groupon and got pizza. I think leftovers are fine on date 3. Just not date 1.0 -
It's not that common for doggy bags here, I think our portions are smaller?? (Patrick? Kirstin? )
However, if a guy wants the leftovers I wouldnt hold it against him. For me, its very rare for me to leave food!! :noway:0 -

LOL! I could see that.0 -
He could had offered me a slice to take home. Lol
I don't care that he did.. Was just odd. I've never experienced that. Well actually I have but it was with Irish boy back in Austin. He was sick (remember him?) and couldn't eat. So he packed it all up.
There were 3 small slices left of pizza. I could careless. Im just glad that date is over with!0 -

I didn't get to be this size by having left overs to take home!lol@leftovers0 -
lol yeah I eat all my food.. and then some of his if he's done.
I'm not afraid to EAT!0 -
I am surprisingly fine with him or one of us taking the leftovers home. It would be nice if he offered. I wouldn't take them though..0

I wouldn't want his leftovers. For some reason that seems really gross to me. I'd also be weirded out if he wanted MY leftovers.
But that's my ish I guess, hahaha0 -

I'll take what I can get.
Just kidding... I'd probably fall in love if he ate my food, too.0 -

I would rather share with my cats.0 -
I don't get why taking leftovers is such a faux pas.
The only exception to the leftover thing is if you're going to have to cart them around on the rest of your date - it is just awkward to carry a container around. But if you're going straight from the table to your car, what's the big deal?
But don't take like a couple nibbles home...only take it home if you have a significant amount left.0 -
I want some pizza now.0

No offense intended but if he took the leftovers home it probably means he either has very bad manners or he also decided it was a one and done as well.:flowerforyou:0

Carl, none taken. I can tell his whole demeanor changed as well. First half he was all smiles and jokes. He even complimented me. By second half and me saying "oh" about 5 times to his ignorant remarks, he looked dazed.
Oh also, he wore a bright orange shirt too. Yikes. Like a western one but bright orange?!?0 -

Pizza Hut delivers. :laugh:0
