If I reach my goal of a sub-hour 40K, I've been thinking about this as a reward:
Other than that, I'm really not looking at any new gear. I think I have enough already! (I know, it's rare to say, but I have already kind of gone overboard!)0 -
Would really, really like a disc cross bike for 2013....as to which???0
-
@ CD-
Make one a racer, one a pit bike and the other a trainer.
Problem solved.

I really like the 'On One Dirty Disco'0

I've now got a hybrid and mountain bike, both on the Cyclescheme. If my company still go in it next year then I'm after a road bike, however the limit is £1,000 so I will have to do some serious research to get the best value for money. After that I'd like a cyclocross - then a tourer - then........
Does the wish list ever end?!?! It's so addictive!0 -
Wishlist... oohh, now that's dangerous. As I've probably mentioned, I do have a bit of a soft-spot for things Italian... And, as I've already owned a Bianchi, Colnago and Pinarello, the next on the list really aught to be a DeRosa - perhaps with a side-order of Campagnolo
Problem is, I'm slightly undecided as to the frame material... For years now, I've had the urge to get myself a Ti frame - the DeRosa Titanio 3.2,5 is a thing of beauty, though for the same money (£2850) I could very probably get something "made to measure" by Lynskey... As a Ti frame would very probably be something I'd want to keep forever, the custom route does appeal (hey, i'm a funny shape - very long torso and arms and short legs amongst my many physical defects!)
BUT - and like mine, it's a big but... I really would like to see what all the fuss about carbon frames is about - and that means more than just taking a test ride or borrowing one for a couple of days - I sort of feel I'd like to spend a season riding one - just to be sure. If it's an experiment, I'd like to rein-in my expensive tastes a little - NO WAY am I spending the price of a DeRosa Merak for example (£2000) for something that I may fall out of love with after 6 months... Also, frankly, the geometry of DeRosa's carbon stuff is all a little racy for me - very heads-down, harris-up and chewing the handlebars. I'm too old and fat to race, even after losing 150+lb...
So, I'm at a complete loss - don't want a mass-market bike, don't really want an anonymous "open mould" chinese carbon, can't afford a Cervelo R5vwd :ohwell:0 -

Oh yes, a fat bike. This is on the list too. Guess I need to decide which bike I want first, road, mountain, fat... too hard.
Remind your wife that the correct number of bikes to own is n+10 -
I'm drooling over pretty much everything posted here.0

That is what I think too, but she doesn't agree. Last year when one of my issues of Bicycling magazine arrived it said "Bikes you must have" on the cover. She grabbed a sharpie and changed it to "Bikes you cannot have"0
