Well Veteran's day is almost here. A day where we salute those who fought with all they had to secure our most sacred american ideal...freedom. And once again, this year we show our gratitude of that freedom by travelling the USA, sometimes by air and letting the TSA reach down our grandma's pants and search for a bomb that could be attatched to her whisker biscuit.

I don't have a problem with security but I would prefer that it was handled by actual security professionals. But then again, I grew up with bomb dogs on my school bus.

Ok, now I really don't know how accurate this is... but if it's true... as I take the place where I got this information with a grain of salt... Alex Jones' website, InfoWars, had a Harris poll done and apparently 30% of Americans would not mind being subjected to a cavity search before entering a plane..... if this is true, it is truly disturbing that nearly 1/3 of Americans wouldn't mind being treated like a hardened convicted criminal on their way to maximum security prison in order to fly a plane....

How's that for giving up liberty for temporary security.... I guess our military didn't fight for our freedoms after all...

With that said, I am thankful that my grandfathers, dad, father, cousins and friends, have all sacrificed their time, energy, and sometimes even more than that, to protect this country.... Now if only we would finally quit meddling into wars that we have no business being in so they can come home and be here to defend OUR territory for if ever the need arises.

is it 30% wouldn't mind it or is it 30% would submit to it if they had to. because i would defninitely mind it but if i had to do it i would submit in order to fly. of course for short trips i might drive a few hours instead of fly.

    Here is the article http://www.infowars.com/poll-nearly-one-third-of-americans-would-accept-tsa-body-cavity-search-in-order-to-fly/

Like I said, it's from a source that has a tendency to publish whackadoodle (my favorite word at the moment) conspiracy theory crap... that's why in my OP I said that IF this is true, this is scary... and honestly, why would anyone accept being treated like a hard core felon on the way to a max security prison? Because they have nothing to hide? Yeah, no. I just won't fly for that one. I would rather drive across the country first. I am not a criminal and I don't want to be treated like one.

I'm not surprised. It seems like half of American thinks that the government doesn't have a problem and isn't corrupt either. :noway:

And Adrian, thank you for your service. :flowerforyou: Roaddog and any other members who served as well!

But why? You are no more likely to be on a plane used in a terrorist attack than you are to be hit by lightning twice? I like traveling too and would love to get back to Europe, but I will be damned before I am treated like I am guilty... It's bad enough to be patted down over prepackaged apple juice... I will not be further violated because this country is scared of something that is not likely to happen again.

why? because its the(hypothetical) rule. i love traveling too much to give it up. it would probably make me drive to LA and Vegas instead of taking an hour flight though.

and to be clear i dont want these rules nor do i think they are needed but i would definitely go along with them instead of not traveling.
