Well my tummy is slowly but surely making progress (though flabby and wonky skin). However, my hips, thighs, and butt aren't budging. I was more apple shaped when chubby in the past. My hip bones widened when I was pregnant. I'm wondering if this is a permanent change. Is anyone else holding onto fat in unusual areas? Oh, of course my boobs are staying larger, but I expected that. I just can't afford an entirely new wardrobe when I get back to my normal weight.

My body totally changed shape....have extra pockets of fat on my back and hips....by product of pregnancy0

I'm still six weeks away from delivery, so I have no answers. I just wanted to say it would suck to not be able to fit back into my wardrobe, but I wouldn't mind being a bit more pear shape. I was more apple before I got pregnant, so it would be nice to balance out a bit more on the bottom. :-)0 -
I guess the good thing about being an apple was that when I was thin, I was a banana. What shall become of my skinny jeans?0

I'm only 5 weeks postpartum, so I'm not sure if I have any permanent changes yet (fingers crossed my butt shrinks some more!)
I have heard that the hormone relaxin stays in your system for 8 weeks postpartum. This is the hormone that causes your hips to spread, and if they are going to go back to where they originally were, it has to happen while the relaxin is still in your body, and things are still soft and flexy?
I have no idea if that is correct, but it's something to think about.
I'm pretty sure you hold extra fat if your nursing, too.0 -
Am following this thread with a lot of interest
I am now below pre preg weight of my eldest (I have two). Whilst I have lost a fair bit of weight I am finding that my hips are definitely wider, even if it has less fat hanging off it.
The result is that I look even more pear shaped than I used to be, because my waistline has gone back to normal (which was always on the smaller side anyway), but my hips still look very wide..
Hope this makes sense?0
