lower back pain

On the topic of pain...

Lower back feels strained tonight. I did Workout B this morning, only my 4th SL workout so far. After squats I could feel my lower back twinging and it's gotten progressively worse during the day (desk job).

Could it have been the squats*? I didn't think lower back pain was a common injury from those. Or maybe it was leftover from Sunday's Workout A, I do know my form collapsed in the last 2 sets of rows. I think my back rounded and I hear that is the cause of many lower back strains.

Anyone have any experience with this? I was hoping to do Workout A again Friday night when I have access to a personal trainer for free at the gym, he's offered to watch my form. Ice, or heat?

*I did video one set of squats and they looked fine (bar over mid foot, plumb drop) except not always deep enough; Rippetoe must have drowned a few kittens

Thanks!
Sharon

To me sounds like either you're either lacking strength in your lower back or bad form. Or a combo of both. Lower back pain is a common issue, don't worry. Stretching should help and strengthen your lower back (weighted hyper extensions, deadlifts but keep in mind do not ever round your back! This can cause you some serious lower back pain or even worse. Been there done that lol.)
