Seriously, if you care a whit about your sodium intake (which for women over 50 is supposed to cap at 1500mg), it's almost impossible to eat pre-packaged food.

I discovered this a few years ago, when my blood pressure skyrocketed. It is shocking to read processed food labels, and it was even more shocking to read the sodium numbers on 'lighter' choices!0

OMG is right! Horrifying!
I don't eat out much any more, but this just really drives the point home.0 -
Every once in awhile when grocery shopping I will check out the weight watchers type meals something for those late night. But than you see the amount of sodium in one dinner. Always put it back.0

Yup sodium war advocate here too!
I personally do like salty food, but wholly molly why is there too much sodium added to simple foods.
It's one of the first thing I look at on labels. Luckily, our local main grocery chain has come out with many staples with low sodium ie, canned tomatoes etc.....makes me happy!
Let's keep our eyes on them labels!0 -
Oh snap! I love my salt! I went back and checked the goal for sodium, and for some reason, it was 2500mg. I adjusted it manually to 1500mg. as per your suggestion. Thanks, and I'll try to watch it from now on.0
