Hey all, after having successfully avoided multiple bouts of tonsillitis this year, I have just been struck down with it again, first time since getting on the wagon. My problem is though, I can barely swallow, even basic fluids. Ice cream used to be my go to food for this as it numbed the throat as it went down. It's not an option now. Protein shakes etc, I can't do as they are lactose loaded and make me vomit. Does anyone have any good solutions? It's now 10am and I am starving My usual breakfast is a cocoa and toast and I couldn't swallow the hot beverage let alone consider the toast

Ooh, I feel for you! I had several bouts of tonsillitis as a child and still remember that sore throat! Hope you feel better soon!
How about a protien shake made with almond milk or coconut milk? I use almond milk in mine everyday and I love it! Unsweetened vanilla is my favorite!
If you have a Champion Juicer, or maybe another juicer, blender or food processor might work, you can make frozen banana ice cream. Put peeled ripe bananas in the freezer for a few hours (over night is great) and then run them through the Champion Juicer with the blank in place that makes everything come out the front end. We even freeze the pieces of the juicer that will be in contact with the banana, the pieces that come off, for a hour or so before running the banana through it. If you're using a blender or food processor, just try mixing it to see if it gets smooth, or maybe try adding a little almond milk if it needs some liquid.
Hopes this is of some help. Be well.0 -
^^ I agree
Use almond milk for your shakes and there are plenty of soups you can have that can be enjoyed whilst warm or cold.
Here's a link for 3 minute cold soup recipes http://www.simplebites.net/three-3-minute-chilled-soups/
Just replace the milk with almond milk.0 -

Doing better Liz, however, I dropped to 93.7 on day 2 and am now 95.8 again, no idea what is going on. I haven't altered my eating or anything0

Weight does tend to fluctuate a lot. To be honest, I feel much more motivated when I don't watch my weight for a while and just focus on my diet and exercise. Maybe that's an idea? Make your weigh-ins further apart maybe?0
