The past two days I have eaten 2400 calories (most of it was not good for me either)! That is so insane! Me and this growing baby definitely don't need that many calories or junk! I need to STOP eating so much. Sigh. Anyone else having trouble staying in their calorie goals?

I have days where I can barely eat my calories and then other days where I get close to 3,000! It is like a roller coaster. LOL

A bit late to this thread but when I did a calorie calculation it said that for a pregnant woman of my weight and size 2400 calories is what I should be eating. It seems very very high to me but maybe 2400 calories isn't too bad?

This. I plan to eat 2500 calories for the second and third trimesters and I am at goal weight.

I read a book called Nutrition in the Childbearing Years by Emma Derbyshire (on googlescholar), and it talks about 50-70% of women being more insulin resistant during the second and third trimesters. I think that's what happened in my last pregnancy, I ate mostly carbs and it just stored as fat. So I need to focus on quality of food and lay of so many carbs this time--especially since I just started my second trimester!
