November 26th through December 2nd.
With all the excitement of the Breaking Dawn Part 2 Premier, the holidays have managed to sneak up on us! it's so important not to let weight creep back on, so this holiday challenge is about prevention....
This week, lets use the power of Siobhan to visualize and concentrate really hard on how we want our week to turn out. Positive thoughts generate positive actions resulting in positive outcomes!
Water -- 64 ounces per day
Food -- Keep at or under your daily calorie allotment. (Bank calories with the goal of using them all within the same week). Throw out those unhealthy leftovers, resist snacks at work, have those special goodies only in moderation.
Exercise -- lets shoot for working out 5 days this week. in addition to your normal workouts, add some extra activity that creates more movement, for example--- taking stairs at work or home, parking further away from the store (don't jeopardize your safety even if your Kung Fu is strong), lifting cans of food dumbbell style while in the kitchen waiting for food to cook, arm wrestle family members, do squats or leg lifts while brushing your teeth. You get the idea!
Sharing -- what's your fave song or songs from the BD2 Soundtrack? Tell us why!
Have a great week ladies! I am anxious to hear how everyone is doing!

Thanks for coming up with this. I'm about 2 weeks from my surgery, and I need to get back on track before then because I'm not sure how much working out I'll be able to do after having an endometrial ablasion0

I have been quiet lately in groups, but I would like to participate in this - needing to keep on track with the holidays approaching - feeling embarrassed to see family over the holidays because I regained half of what I had lost
- determined not to do it this season!!
My favorite song from the BD 2 soundtrack is Thousand Years because I LOVED the credits!

Ghosts, without a doubt. I am obsessed with that song. Why? Not sure but I am always drawn to the more haunting songs like Rosalyn from New Moon, Full Moon from Twilight. I do love the more romantic like A Thousand years and Turning Page from BD1 too. But yeah,Ghosts is by leaps and bounds my favorite from BD2.
I had picked it out as a favorite even before seeing the movie but it is perfect for when Bella realizes they are under a death sentence and that Alice knows it (at least Bella thinks so). She feels, "We are ghosts amongst these hills". It is hard to believe the song wasn't written for the movie.0 -

Oh my gosh yes! The credits!! I so loved how they tied the movies and books together like that.
Nancy, don't be embarrassed and especially don't get discouraged. You obviously haven't given up and unless you have given up up you have not failed!! We all are in this with you. We all have made mistakes and had setbacks, at least I know I have. Let's just go forward into this Holiday season with the self control of newborn Bella. With out fellow vamps we can do this!!!!!0 -

Welcome back! No need to feel or be embarrassed here, we are all here for each other!0 -

I've gained a little too, Nancy, so I completely understand. I've been reflecting on things the last few days and have come to the realization that I lost my drive because I failed to make eating healthier/exercising a priority in my life since I have so many other priorities taking up my time. I have decided to change that over the next 30 days so that at Christmas I won't feel badly about myself like i did over Thanksgiving. We CAN do this!!
I'm a Christina Perri fan so right now "A Thousand Years" is a huge favorite. Especially since I like to sing and it's a good song for me vocally. I honestly haven't listened to the soundtrack so I need to change that and make some observations for this challenge!
As always, huge thanks to Yvonne for keeping us moving towards sparkling good health!:flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks everyone!0

In an attempt to meet our challenge for this week, I took the stairs at work today. I had been taking the elevator, justifying that since I already work out, who needs the extra calorie burn, :noway: but obviously, I CAN use the extra!0

I am going to try to turn over a new leave and post everyday.
Got a decent run in for my exercise, 35 minutes including cool down.
Working on my 10th cup of water.
Extra stuff, I scrubbed floors at work today instead of mopping. I squatted while doing it.
I finished in the green on my calories.
And I still love Ghosts and have listened to it several times today.
Oh yeah, and we either ate or threw out all the leftovers.0 -
I did good with food and water today and got in 61 minutes of exercise. Starting to feel like my old self again to some extent as far as finding my drive to exercise.
Oh, and for the record, Jillian Michaels is Satan. I'd do double crunches if she wouldn't make me do squat and press with hand weights0 -
Tuesday Check In:
:smooched: Took the stairs at work again today. I huff and I puff, and there is no way I could blow anyone's house down!
:drinker: 5 cups of water so far - but the night is young.
:ohwell: it was chilly and breezy outside so I kept my workout indoors and did my Sparkpeople 28 day Bootcamp workout DVD. I like the variety it provides. Has a nice warmup and a good cool down stretching routine, then you insert your choice of workout in between. Today I did Tone and Burn. Yep I was burning. This boneless chicken ranch girl is going to get some muscle yet! I see that one of the workouts I haven't tried yet is inspired by kettle bell moves!!! I will have to do that one this week.
 Here is my little bit of excitement for the day...
At work we have a new Vice President. Got to meet him today (okay, I was in the meeting with about 100 other people that's as close as it gets).... Anyhow, his name is Rob Mattinson, born in Manchester England. He is not as tall, or as young, or as cute as Rob Pattinson, but he definitely has the accent!
Soundtrack faves: I really enjoy Fire in the Water and Heart of Stone, but I thoroughly enjoy the whole thing. I need to make my walks longer, I find that I arrive back home with 3 songs left to go. The score was due out yesterday and I forgot to see if it was on iTunes. I look forward to associating parts of the movie with the music. Music really makes my work day more productive and enjoyable.
Hope everyone is having a great week. I expect to fall off course some tomorrow, Birthday dinner is in my future and I am hoping for some cake!0 -

I HATE Jillian..............there I said it for you! :devil:0 -
Day 1 -
Water -- 64oz
Food -- 68 under goal
Exercise --30 minutes cardio, and I've increased my daily step goal on my fitbit
Sharing -- Current favorite is The Antidote by St. Vincent. Good get up & moving song
Day 2 -
Water - 64 oz
Food - 763 under goal, not quite sure how that happened but I know I need to work on a healthier balance, and increase my protein because the week that we aimed for higher protein I had a better weigh in.
Exercise - 65 minutes0 -
I actually started on Sunday so to sum it up, I've had 3 good days of being under calorie goal with high protein each day as well as adequate water. I've also exercised for 3 days in a row. This is a huge accomplishment for me and with my own personal 30 day plan/challenge, I am determined to keep it up for the next 27 days.0

Took the stairs today.
Went for a wonderful walk this evening, under the light of the beautiful moon, listening to....you got it, Breaking Dawn 2 soundtrack. Love it love it love it!
Eating however, not so great. Coworkers took me out for my Birthday to have Chinese for lunch, birthday cake and ice cream tonight. Skipped birthday dinner until Friday when I can really enjoy it.0 -
sorry for shouting, but I HATE BEING SICK. The wonderful Ohio weather changes from being able to go out without a jacket on thursday to snow on saturday has taken it's toll on me. I seem to always get sick when this happens and feel like complete & total crap. I did get my full 64oz of water in today, and a few more flights of stairs here at the house but that's about it. I didn't even get to 1200 calories despite a chai latte from starbucks and an entire 32oz bottle of gatorade0
-
Not many folks checking in this week, but hopefully they are still surviving.
I'm on day 5 of getting re-focused on healthy eating/fitness and so far so good. I'm getting my water in every day, staying under my calorie goal, and exercising daily. Now I just need to do that for about 5 more months so I can reach my goal.:bigsmile:0 -
Day 4
Water -- 64oz
Food -- 10 over goal
Exercise --100 minutes of walking while Christmas shopping
Sharing -- Current favorite is The Antidote by St. Vincent. Good get up & moving song0 -
Hope everyone is having a good week! I have been under calories, but have not been eating the best stuff - need to do better there! I am upping the water, too. Happy weekend!0
-
Tonight I had my birthday dinner with my boyfriend so I was definitely over calories for the day but was careful earlier to allow for extra indulgences.
Have been focusing on the water, and taking the stairs at work each day. Parked quite a ways from the restaurant and store tonight.
Bought a new iTunes card tonight so I can download the Bd2 Score. Had stopped at Target thinking they might have the CD but they didn't. I will have that loaded on my iPod in time for my next workout!
Hope everyone has had a great week. Ready for the weekend!0 -
Sticking to the challenge has really helped me! I lost 6 lbs this week...though I'm sure some of it was water weight....and I feel better than I have in a month! Woot! Woot!
Hope you are all having a fabulous week!!0 -
Day 5
Water -- 64oz
Food -- under goal
Exercise -- 15 minutes dancing (just dance 2 on the wii)
Sharing -- All I've Ever Needed - Paul McDonald & Nikki Reed0 -
Saturday check in.
Stayed under calories for the day.
Drank lots of water
Did lots of walking between my car and the stores to do Christmas shopping, plus my 30 minute walk.Had a lovely "salad at a local place called "Ciao". it was called Isalata Frutta di Campo, it is listed on the menu as follows:
Garden fresh greens tossed with ripe berries, sugared pecans, feta cheese, drizzled with berry vinaigrette & served with grilled toast points.
I added grilled salmon. Ooooh delicious!
The soundtrack song that popped into my head during the day was "Ghosts". I think I can get it in a free Ring tone for my phone from Zedge, need to check it out!0 -
Day 6
Water -- 64oz
Food -- under goal
Exercise -- stretching & walking around at work0 -
Day 7
Water -- 64oz
Food -- over for today, but under for the week0
