So in the Fit for Future Families thread we used to do challenges, I don't so much see that here. Anyone downs?
I'm not thinking anything extreme but everyone pick something to commit to, post it here and give @ least weekly updates. No judgement just a little accountability, I know it's easy to get out of control during the holidays.

So, for me i'm thinking:
@ least a serving of veggies and fruit each a day (I know that's weak but I've been struggling with veggies so I just need to get back on the ball)
Walk 2 miles a day at least 4 times a week
10 glasses of water a day.....
I think that's it for now, if anyone else has good things I may add them
ETA: do my physical therapy workout at least 2x a week outside of PT0 -
Oooh good idea!! I'm going to try to limit my sweets intake to once a week!0
-
I am going to work out 3x week. I am going to make sure I get my fruits and veggies every day.0
-
I'm down.
I'd like to work out at least 3x/week. I was so awesome about it pre-pregnancy, and then I got exhausted :frown:0 -
I'll have to think of something outside what I normally do (30+ mins walking per day and sticking to my calorie goals).
I'm down though! Great idea!0 -
Im down!
I want to walk 5x week for at least 30 min, stick to my calorie goal, and cut way back on processed foods.0 -
I am in.
I will eat my veggies. ( I have been having such a hard time with this)
I will exercise at least 3x a week. I have no energy, but I will force it.
I will drink more water.0 -

Girl, you wanna hear "weak"? I read through these and thought, "Maybe I should limit my ice cream intake to just once a day." Lol. Sadly, I'm not sure I can do it! Y'all are inspiring me though. I'm going to think on this and see if there is something I can seriously commit to...0 -
Count me in....I will exercise at least 3 times per week and at least two of those days will be lifting. I am cutting down on refined carbs (although that is all I seem to want lately) and I am going to force myself to eat more protein/veggies. One serving a day for now is what I will promise....this is coming from someone who ate clean and super high protein prior to baby. I feel like my body has been taken over by an alien, lol!0

Ok, I've decided to commit to the following:
No ice cream until after I've had 5 servings of fruits and veggies. If I don't meet my veggie minimum, I don't eat ice cream. Try to limit ice cream consumption to once a day.
Some form of exercise every day for at least one half hour--some days walking the dog for 30 minutes is going to count as that exercise.0 -

The good new is, you could pile your ice cream sky high with berries & bananas, etc... YUM! And it takes care of a few fruit servings for you!0 -
Great ideas! Here are mine:
1. Sweets indulgence only 1-2 times per week (e.g. my small M&M Blizzard from Dairy Queen)
2. Keep carbs at or below 200 grams/day
3. Keep protein at or above 100 grams/day0 -
- Mine is def try and take at a 30 min walk at least 4 times a week
- need to drink more water and
- try and eat better (been eating a lot of the quick and easy stuff that I hate since still wrestling with some pretty bad morning sickness)0 -
Has anyone gotten a head start? I've been trying to at lest start getting fruits and veggies in now so that by the end of the week it's easy0
-
I'm modifying mine a bit... now that I am on steroids (which raise blood sugar) and I'm at risk for GD, I am going to try my darndest to NOT have sweets (I've done it before but not while preggo) and keep my carbs at or around 150 grams/day as much as possible.0

I think my December challenge will be a little different but still 'healthy'. I want to be in bed by 10pm every week night until December 24th. I was last night and it makes SUCH a difference!0

This is a good goal, I feel my best when I go to bed between 9-10 and if I don't, I pay for it! Sleep during pregnancy is very important :-)0 -
Amen!0

I think I should do a similar challenge wicked0

Well today's the day for the December challenge!! I will be having sweets today but I'm going to try not to have anymore till next Saturday. Good luck you guys!0

Yeah, DAY 1 - workout DOWN (Spinning)!!! I'm not going to Spinning tomorrow morning but would like to take a fast walk in the evening (on my own with just my iPod and my thoughts)! If I start my week on Saturday, then that counts, though unless I am out of town or sick, I go to Spinning on Saturdays. They just changed it, too, so starting next Saturday, it's 75 minutes instead of 60 (same price) :happy:0 -
I want to modify mine a bit:
1st-I'm sticking to my goal about getting 5 servings of veggies + fruit everyday, as well as limiting my ice cream intake to just once a day and only after I get my veggies.
2nd-I'm also sticking to the original plan of shooting for at least 30 minutes of exercise everyday. At 37 weeks, I'm finding this is truly "a challenge"...unless, of course, I include getting off the sofa...or bed...or tying my own pair of shoes as exercise...which feels "countable," but really isn't. Sigh.
3rd-I'm going to stick to my maintenance + 300 calories as religiously as I possibly can until my baby boy is born (and unless he's a late one, that'll be this month). I'm also going to stop weighing myself everyday, and limit it to the one day each week I will get weighed at the doctor's office. I think weighing myself everyday at this point is just serving to stress me out...AND I should trust that if I am actually eating right and exercising, everything will be fine for the next few weeks in the weight department. (So, number 3 is kind of a mental health challenge for me.)0 -
I am down for a December challenge! I would like to get 3-4 servings of fruit and veggies each day, continue taking my Zumba class once per week and walk/ jog a total of 9 miles per week. Good luck everyone! Happy 12/1!0
-
2 mile walk down, 6 cups of water down, fruits and veggies down (though I think I might have a green smoothie later to boost it a little more)
LETS DO THIS!0 -

I agree with your #3! My weight fluctuates from day to day so there's no point in stressing about it lol0 -
Here're my goals:
1. Continue walking at least 30 minutes per day (really aiming closer to 45 mins)
2. DO NOT overdo sodium anymore. My feet are so prone to swelling now.
3. Stick to my calorie goals with as much home-cooked quality food as possible.0 -

Great goals! I'm with you on the sodium!! Although I drink plenty more water than necessary, sodium is a pregnant chicks nightmare!0 -

Awesome!
I had a whole can of veggies yesterday (I know, I know, sodium in the canned veggies, but for some reason I really wanted them), so that's 3.5 servings. I also had two clementines, so I think that's 4.5, I guess, since clementines are pretty small.
Fruits and veggies weren't even one of my goals, but I did it! Today, not so much (so far), but then again I spent all morning in court :frown:
I did not work out yesterday but plan on walking tonight :glasses:0 -
got the veggies in so far today, plus my walk, and I think I'm on taget for water (terrible about logging it), just gotta get my fruit in when I get home. How you all been doing?
For me, I think this challenge will improve my nutritional intake but I'm not so sure about keeping weight gain in check hehe0
