The start

Hello.

I have been lurking on here for a long time now. Im James, 18 from Liverpool. What am i doing here? well here is the story.

Last year i set myself a challenge, to lose weight for christmas and did i? hell yes. I lost 3 stone in 3 months with no excercise at all. Just pure diet. However since then i have gained it all back. Two days ago my friends who are all fitness addicts and rugby players started making fun of how i had let my hard work go to waste and however deeply upsetting it was they were right.
Amidst all their sly digs and banter they set me a challenge, to join an online community and prove myself. They said to prove myself i had to create and achieve the best short-term transformation within that community. Having been lurking here for a long time i chose MFP as that online community.
The time length that they have set me is determined mainly by the fact that the shortest time period which has achieved the best results are from the workout programme P90x which is based on a 90 days (3 months) transformation. therefore they have set me a time length of 3 months to achieve this.

However silly this may seem and most of you may look at this as a joke and think in a few days i will just flake out, this is not just me trying to win one over my friends, it is a lifestyle change for myself... hell.. in four months ill be going away with them all to Turkey on a Lads holiday, i'd have to do this to be able to take my top off on the beach!!

So basically, heres the rules they set:
- No assistance (eg Personal Trainer, Work out buddy)
- ALL NATURAL (no roids)
- No training programmes (eg P90x, Starting Strength)

Follow me or not. Your Choice.

I will post weekly Weight updates, Monthly pictures and Daily Colorie intakes.

Thanks, James

    Good luck!

So I guess you'll be developing your own workout program and just going with what works for you?

You already know you can shift the weight, because you did it before, so just stick at it, and you'll get there. The advantage you'll have is that if they're fitness addicts or rugby players, then they can help you keep the exercise up once the weight is gone.
  • If your friends setting you a challenge is what is going to motivate you and make you stick at it and create a lifestyle change then good for you! Show them how strong-willed you are. Goodluck!
