We actually chose our names pretty quick but not without a lot of fighitng. It seems like any name i really liked my boyfriend who someone with that name and he didnt want to use that name since he would think about that person...... This made our name list very short! lol. I had my heart set on Erich ( after my late grandfather) but since my boyfriends best friend is named Eric he vetoed that. We agreed upon Colton for the first name and I didnt back down on the middle name. Our son will have 2 middle names. My grandfathers ( Erich) and my last name ( Notch). The in laws are not thrilled about the two middle names but for me they are important. My dad only had girls so once i am married that last name will die with him. I am proud of my family and wanted to pass it on. So the long name of our baby boy will be Colton Erich Notch Francis! lol

I like the name, it has quite a ring to it! My husband's coworker/friend is named Brock but we like Brock so much (since before they even met) that we still went with it. My late great uncle's middle name was Stanley so that's why we went with it. We were going to use Rob's middle name (Lee), but Brock Lee = Broccoli. Nope!

With my son I got my way I wanted to name him Justice (after a character on General Hospital, I know cheesy right). I wanted to name this little girl Grace but my SIL stole it and used it after I told her. She would have been Grace Kathryn. Then I wanted Charlotte Kathryn and hubby shot that down. He chose Jordan so I backed down and let him have his way since he was so easy going with our son's name but he did agree to Kathryn so she will be Jordan Kathryn.

I've been a committed General Hospital fan for a looonnngg time! lol But who is Justice?? lol
totally off topic I think the show is going down the hole w the new characters back on and no Jason. lol I stopped watching lately cuz it's not the same.

You don't remember Justice???? they spelled it Justus and he was a Quartermaine one of Edwards illegitimate children. He was a lawyer. They had him on in the early 90's then brought him back in 2003 before killing him off.

Hahahaha the broccoli thing is hilarious. You always have to think about that though. Kids are mean to each other and you dont want to set him up right away

Oh, that's funny - I'm glad you thought ahead to that one! Lee is a common middle name for men and women in my mom's family, so now I know to watch out for that one. (On that note, my sister, whose first and middle names are Jessica Lee, was apparently almost named Sara... so she'd have been Sara Lee.)

Our dogs' vet's name is Brock (it's his first name, but everyone calls him Dr. Brock), and he's an awesome guy. I definitely make good associations with that name

I would have named him Abel Levi or Silas Levi.... the name we decided on was Zachary Levi. Every name that I chose was shot down, except having Levi as the middle name. The only name that he suggested was Jackson, and I wasn't too big on it. Zachary just came out of nowhere as we looked at a name list together on the day that we found out that we were having a boy. So, even though Abel and Silas were my top choices, I love the name Zachary and my daughters are already referring to him as baby Zachy.

Lucian is definitely a Latin name. The only famous one I can think of off the top of my head is Lucian of Antioch: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucian_of_Antioch

    Odysseus is absolutely Greek.

I love Marcus for a name!

All that made me think of was the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch...

I would make that into a onesie:

"My name is Lucian of Antioch, and here is my Holy Hand Grenade."

    I liked;
    Holden
    Silas
    Katalina

    All vetoed.

Jen, I had a friend named Bo, so sweet and I like the name....

We had a boy last time, but on my shortlist of girls' names was Katarina, which is close to yours (though I like Katalina, too). My husband neg'd it, so it was out. I also suggested Katrina, but then I thought with the the hurricane and all (not that we live in the affected area), it might not be a good idea.

Ohhh darn, bad timing with the hurricane. I love those names and then you have the nickname Kat or KitKat

We agreed on names right away. But if it weren't for my brother stealing it I would have liked to name a son Graydon (Grandpa's middle name)

I love our girls name Zulma (his late mother's name) Eileen (my mom's middle name) i love that both names have meaning for us and I think that Zummie is a cute nickname

    Zummie is a cute nickname!

I know this is horrible but if I have a boy I want to name him Beau. The reason why it is horrible is that when I mentioned it to my MIL, she told me in her ultra annoying voice, " Beau is a nick name.....not a real name"....she never even stopped to realize that my cousin Beau had just died in a tragic accident. Because of her comments, this kid might end up a Beau even if she is a girl! The woman irritates me to no end! The more she dislikes a name, the more I like it! Grrr!

So I just saw this on the net earlier today...and thought of this post.. Beauden....I'm sure your MIL would LOVE that lol

There is a STFU Parents post, if anyone's interested, from a couple of years back where the baby was actually named Vagena. The post is kind of horrifying, though, so I'm giving you fair warning.
