Soup and salad for dinner

It seems that when i actually have homemade soup or (low sodium) and salad for dinner the scale is always happy with me the next morning. I mean, even if i eat junk for lunch. Any one else notice this trick to be helpful to them? or anyone have any other helpful tricks?

Somewhat yes! I eat low calorie meals like this for say three days, and my weight don't move. But when I eat 2 slices of pizza, I lose two pounds. And I'm like, what? Weird.0
