Looking for a new life

Hi everyone!
My name is Teresa (Tamzy99), I am 38 years old an currently weigh 343lbs @ 5'4".
I recently went through a very heartbreaking separation from a 13 year relationship. I moved from IN to AZ to be closer to my family. It's a whole other world out here. I am now working from home sitting at my computer all day. It's difficult to make such big changes (love, career, moving) all at the same time, but I think on the whole it's been good for me. I've done a lot of soul searching and realized that there is so much I am missing out on!
I've sort of taken up hiking. I say sort of because I only do it about once a week for 1-3 miles. I would love to do it more, but it's rugged mountain terrain and for someone my size it is very physically challenging and painful. I'm researching ways to do it safer and trying to keep the pain to a minimum. Really want to make good use of the life changes I am making and give myself a new start. Looking for any friends and support. Would espeically love to know if there are others of my size out there hiking.

I'm right around 330 and do so enjoy hiking but right now I'm just walking.
Start at your 1 to 3 miles occasionally, try to complete it in a quicker time, then you can look at building up the distance...
I'm about to start a brand new fitness regime, and it's "scary" thinking of all the pushups it entails but looking at it from the "no gym required" really caught my attention and I'll start with the most basic push-up available... wall pushups... when I can do those as per the program numbers then I'll increase difficulty, one step at a time, start at the beginning and increase as your body is able to move along with you! Don't jump from inactivity to expecting to do a marathon, did that years ago and no way you know I've never run in anything organized since, but I do enjoy "retro-running" along the old rail bed, really targets different muscle-groups.0
