This week is the midway point of the Holiday Freeze. How is that weight maintenance going? I hope it's going well now because we are approaching the busiest time of the year. Staying in control now sets you up for continued success as the year draws to a close.

This week's focuses are on water and fruits & vegetables. Let's start with the latter. We all know that fruits and vegetables are an important part of a healthy diet. Many of us have our favorites that we fall back on but it's equally important to remember that we need to vary what we are consuming. Try to incorporate all of the colors - red & yellow peppers as well as green is a great example. Also try to incorporate fruits and vegetables of all shapes ... maybe this will remind us to try squash or star fruit. (Check out Buddha's Hand ... )

Finally, it's really important for us to stay hydrated. As it gets colder, we tend to steer away from water but it's equally important to keep those fluids coming even when we are cold. As a general rule, we should be consuming at least eight glasses of water a day to stay on top of our hydration. Carry a water bottle with you ... throw it in your purse and remember to use it throughout the day.
