Saw this in my newsfeed today........while it is a serious article (and probably does merit consideration) the mental image it created was pretty funny.

"But it has drawbacks, Cavagna says — chiefly that you can’t see where you’re going. “It should be done on a track,” he says, “or by a couple of runners, side by side,” one facing forward."

    A couple years ago they did a challenge on the Biggest Loser show where they had to go backwards on a treadmill. They raised the incline until all but one fell off. I tried it and DO NOT recommend it!!!
    I do do some sidsteps, skips, and tiny bit of backwards running at the beginning of a run for a warm up.

    You can kinda do this on an ellipitical machine. I do it every now and then...

    Good idea in theory but I'd hate to think of all the injuries people will sustain from going this!
