Fan Fiction

Okay...I suppose asking if anyone does is silly, so I'll skip to the next questions.

How many of you Read FanFic? Do any of you Write it?

Suggestions of Sites where you can go get your FanFic Geek on? My site of choice is www.fanfiction.net

This is being brought up by the way because of this :
* http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7591040/1/ Honestly, one of the best I've read in my opinion. Really...never would have thought to do Harry Potter and the Dragon Riders of Pern, but it's good! The sequal is in the works and about 3/4 done I think, but this story is completed and I just thought I would share with my fellow Geeks!

pfffft i probably read more fanfiction than actual books these days. I mostly use fanfiction.net and archiveofourown.org/
i'm really picky about what i read though. xD
  • Read fanfiction a lot. There's a lot of junk but filtering through it is sooo worth finding the handful of gems that I read over and over again.

FF.net is my go-to site, but I google around for my different pairings and it's not hard to find sites dedicated to them (and they *usually* have a higher concentration of quality material)
  • I wouldn't say I read a lot of fan fiction, but I will every once in awhile. I use to read a lot but there seems to be too much.....Snape/Harry-Ginny-Ron-the Hippogriff......for my taste

I've read some on and off. My wife used to write some Harry Potter stuff back before all the books were out. I think it might even be on FF.net. Either way, she tended to get good reviews.

I definitley do not have a slight obsession with a particular Willow/Tara fanfic. I have not printed out every page of this full length fanfic novel ...and I do not have it hole punched in a couple binders located on my bookshelf. So, no. The answer is no.. I do not read fanfic.

Is that like how I don't have an obsession with a particular epic space adventure with my favorite Nordic personifications and drop everything when I get the new chapter posted email from FF? Or how every time I watch FMA: Brotherhood I don't want to smack some sense into Mustang and Hawkeye because there are obviously shared feelings between them? Or how for my top 3 pairings I haven't been compiling my favorites into epubs and putting them on my Kobo to not read all the time? LOL

I read them in spurts! I don't go to fanfiction.net anymore unless there's a fic there that's recc'd by someone. I pretty much go by fic recc's on tumblr and browse AO3. Mostly Doctor Who stuff but I used to be very into Harry Potter ff's and some anime. I wrote some, too, as a teenager and I thought I was hot stuff. It was average. I always got caught up in details and lost my groove. ;)
