I tried a bench press the other day just to see how much I might be able to do. I did the bar (45 pounds). It was HARD! So, are my 5 sets suppose to look like this:
1st - bar
2nd - Bar +5
3rd bar +10
4th bar +15
5th bar +20
I really don't think I'll be able to do that. Do I only add 5 pounds if I get through all 5 reps? So, for example, if I can't get though all 5 reps on the 3rd set, I could be like:
1st -bar
2nd - bar +5
3rd - bar +10
4th bar +10
5th bar +10
Is this right? Help!

You should use the same weight for all reps.
First day: Bench Press 45 lbs for all 5 sets. Next session you skip bench, but the following (your next A day) try to shoot for all 5 sets at 50 lbs.0
