Am I going to have a monster baby?

I am 28 weeks along and I feel HUGE! The last couple of weeks I've had several people ask me how far along I am or how long to go. When I tell them 12 more weeks, they're generally shocked and think I'm way further along. Now this isn't because I am a tiny person and therefore all out in front...
Is my baby going to be huge?? I was 9lb5 born, almost all the babies on my side are 9lb+. Additionally my husband is a 6'5" monster who was 10lb born. EEEEEEkkkkkkkkkkkk

You could have a monster baby, but I don't think it has anything to do with what size you or your husband were when born. I was late, but only 5lb, husband was right near his due date and about 6lbs. Our baby was two weeks early and 7lb 11oz. I have no idea what effects the size of baby, sorry!
Pre term labor at 32 weeks and they gave me steroids to develop his lungs, my little brother (born 10lbs!) told me my baby would come out with ripped abs and bulging biceps because of the steroids.0 -
I think it depends on how long they are in there, frankly, among other factors. My sister's first baby was ~7lbs but born at ~38 weeks. Her second baby was almost 10lbs but born at ~40 weeks.
Even when they do ultrasounds and try to guess, they are not always right. I was told I'd have a "big" baby, and my son was 7lbs 3 oz. The only thing they were right about was that he would have long limbs and would be long/tall, which he was and still is at nearly 2 years old.
Anyway, people have no clue what you're supposed to look like at various stages of pregnancy (not that there's any way you're really supposed to look, since everyone looks different), so they see a belly and assume you're at 40 weeks.0 -
Thanks guys, I think you're probably right. I haven't really been worried about anything during my pregnancy and I'm generally pretty easy going. However getting these comments a few times in the last week had me feeling a bit 'abnormal'...0

Don't worry about what others are saying, if you're health care provider is concerned with your size, that's different. My husband is 6'7" and he was born 12 weeks early at 3lbs2 oz and I was 2 weeks late at 10lbs13oz. My first two sons were born at 8 and 8 1/2 respectively. You'll be fine!0

I posted in another thread on this but I upload some pics to Instagram and look at other pregnant women in their third tri (I am 30 weeks) and it's amazing how varied everyone is in size. Some people tell me I barely look pregnant, others tell me I am bulging out lol. I echo the comment that as long as your doctor isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either! People just have no tact sometimes. I had a teeny bulge when I was about 8 weeks and had people asking me why I was showing already. Um, hello, I'm bloated and how am I supposed to know WHY? Lol.0

Yeah, I think its compounded by the fact that people just look at my husband and laugh at me. Of course, birth weight has nothing to do with how big someone turns out....0

I measured huge my whole first pregnancy. They were saying she could be around 9 lbs. She was 7 lbs 1 oz. I don't trust the measurements and stuff from ultrasounds. My other daughter was supposed to be around 8 lbs and she was 7 lb 5 oz.0
