ok, so, going back in time a bit. remember the guy that i had two dates with, then didn't hear from. then saw him spontaneously on a friday night and got blown off by him on sunday? well, that was two weeks ago.

he sent me a couple very short, random texts during the past two weeks. but, we didn't "chat" or anything. he didn't call and didn't ask me out again. so, i had figured he was moving on, or looking to move on.

well, this past monday he starts texting me and keeps going, as in like a conversation. eventually he types out " i'm done looking. i would really like to date you and see where this goes." ummmm, ok. maybe he needed that time to see what he really wanted, right? so, i told him i would like that too......... then POOF! he's gone. again, LOL!!!! i did not get a single response to my comment even though we had been going back and forth for about 15-20 min.......

i decided to just be done and write him off at that point. i mean, REALLY!!!! WELL, last night at like 8ish ( 48 HOURS later) he sends " good night baby."

HUH??? i replied " i think you sent this to me by mistake." LOL!!!!
an hour and a half later he responds with, " whatever....... night."

third strike, you're outta here ;-)

Years ago, I met a woman online and within 15 minutes of meeting her she told me she got a DUI the previous weekend and was sexually assaulted her senior year in college. She was even too crazy for me.. and I love crazy (just not bat**** crazy).

I was checking mail on OkC a while ago and someone IM's me, asking what I'm doing. I told him I'm avoiding cleaning while I play on the internet. He starts talking about how I should just get it over with and it's good to clean and it burns calories (I'm already over this guy at this point). Finally I say "Well, I don't wanna because internet" and he says "Just do it." and then I said "Okay" and logged out of chat. About two minutes later I get a missed message from him going ".... hello?"

I had a good laugh about that.

Here are my 2 "best" stories... both from online dating

1 - So I was texting with this guy for a couple of days steadily and we even talked on the phone once. He was super flirty and asked a lot of sex questions but I don't really think much of it. He then suggests we meet and made a sexual comment so I told him that I would only meet him at starbucks because I didn't really know him. He made a few more sexual jokes about going back to his place if we liked each other so I told him that if we liked each other, then we'd make a real date but I wasn't going anywhere but starbucks. He agreed so I met him. When he gets to starbucks, he says "Yeah, you're ok. Let's go" So I say "go where?" and of course he says his place so I tell him that's not happening and he proceeds to scream at me in the middle of stabucks about how all women play games and lead guys on. The Manager comes out and tells us both to leave at which point I tell the Manager that teh guy is totally nuts and I'm not going anywhere until I'm sure he's gone. I also mentioned that I'm a lawyer and could get a huge settlement if attacked in the starbucks parking lot so of course he let me stay and escorted crazy guy to the parking lot. I sat there for over an hour just to make sure he was gone.

2 - I was talking with this guy on the phone for about 2 weeks almost every day before we decided to meet. He insisted on dinner so I met him at a very nice Italian restaurant. He was a nice guy and dinner was good. After dinner, he asks if I want to take a walk so we start walking. During our walk he tells me that I was his first date in over a year because 2 men had followed him home and raped him. I didn't want to scar the poor guy further so I tried to be supportive but in my head I just kept thinking "OMG!!! Why would you tell someone that on a first date?"

O-M-G to both! I've only had one bad/weird experience. Nothing like these... Here it goes:

I met a guy online (at that time I was using POF) and we chatted that day and that same night we decided to meet. His pictures were blurry but he seemed ok so I thought, what the heck! We met up at a bar near my place and when I saw him waiting at the door I didn't even want to walk up but I felt bad for him... socks almost up to his knees, plaid pants, goofy glasses and the biggest over bite ever. It was terrible. The bouncer looked at me weird too. I ordered a glass of wine, we started to talk. I can't even begin to describe his odd/squeaky voice. After about 20 minutes I pretended to get a call and told him I had to run home to my roommate and that I'd be back. I'm running out the door and the bouncer stops me: "Where are you going so fast? I knew what was going on. Be careful with that online stuff!" I laughed with him for a few seconds and bolted! When I got home I texted him and said I couldn't make it back. That was the last I heard of him thankfully. It made me feel terrible and I have not done that again!

I don't know... Probably the best dating site date I went on was with someone who didn't have a picture. He sent me an incredibly smart and funny message, so I read his profile and we messaged back and forth a little. I asked him out and prefaced that I didn't really care what he looked like because his profile compared David Foster Wallace to Amy Tan which was hilarious.

I asked for a picture just so I'd know who he was when we met. He sent it. He was maybe 40-50lbs overweight which didn't bother me- he was just super sensitive about it, and probably overly worried about his business image being somehow tainted by okcupid.

Edit: I guess this is all relative to what you're looking for. Looks aren't super high on my needs list because the other stuff I'm looking for isn't always easy to find so I have to discount looks or I'd never go out with anybody.

True..but really...what a thing to say when you are trying to impress someone.....
When I tell people this story, everyone says.....well, what was he in prison for?......I have no idea--I didn't continue the conversation to find out!!
