Training while aching

I skipped yesterday because I was taking painkillers to dull the ache, and training while under the influence of painkillers always strikes me as a bad idea. Today I'm less achey - no painkillers needed - but not sure whether I should give myself another day off or not? I did the set-up, figuring out weights pus workout A last Friday.

unless you actually feel injured, you should work through any muscle soreness. For me, resting is the worst thing I can do for muscle soreness. Activity - even just walking to get the blood pumping and muscles moving - seems to work best to alleviate that.

And there's no evidence that soreness means you are 'healing' or 'building muscle' or anything, so you won't be impeding your process if you work through it.

(also - after a few weeks, you'll stop getting sore very often. Your body gets used to the motions)

    Thanks!

I did go - cycling, running, overhead presses and squats. That's all been fine, and repositioning the squat bar has alleviated some of the middle back ache I got last time. I gave the deadlifts a miss because 1) I did them last time and 2) I'm pretty sure that's what lead to most of the backache.

Back to workout A on Friday, and Workout B (with deadlift) early next week, I guess and see how my back feels after that.
