Did you know that the average American watches 28 hours of TV each week? That's 4 hours per day, on average. Let's put that in perspective by making a few assumptions.
1) 7 hours per day of sleep.
2) 1 hour of miscellaneous prep time in the morning.
3) A 1.5 hour commute to work.
4) Being at work 9 hours per day.
5) A 1.5 hour commute home.
Okay, that's 20 hours ... 4 hours of television brings us to 24 hours for the day.
No time for an evening meal, no time with kids, no time for exercise, no time with a pet! Wow!!! It's kind of scary to look at it that way. (I know, it's an average and we probably average more on the weekends, but still.)
I challenge you this week to limit your screen time. For this purpose, let's say screen time is time on your computer, on your iPhone (or Android) and on the TV, or anywhere a screen is involved, really. Take time to go for a walk or hit the gym. See how this can improve your overall mood but also your motivation at the end of the day.
