My friend and I are trying to pick our race schedule for 2013 this is what we have is it too much for semi novice runners
May- 1/2 marathOn
June- tough mudder (12 miles)
August- muddy buddies (5 miles)
Oct- marathon
We will through in a few 5ks here and there but over all is it too much?

Seems reasonable to me assuming you aren't starting from zero. Will that be everyone's first half marathon?
If so, I wouldn't be in too big a hurry to jump to that first marathon. I find it works better if you learn to run and race halfs for a while. There is no magic to 26.2, it's just a long way.0 -

I second the motion on the marathon. Running halfs is an excellent distance that can be fine tuned easier than in full 26.2. It is a long distance.0 -
My friend has run 1/2 and full marathons it's my first 1/2 and full I run 10 miles on Saturdays (about 25 a week) so it would be with training. My other friend is an outstanding athlete (Olympic cyclist)0

Well I'm no expert having run just 2 half's (with a few more schedule for early next year) but if you are running 10 miles then a half isn't going to be a problem for you. You could run one next week if your goal was purely to finish and you weren't too concerned with the time.
Looks like you have quite a bit of time to build up to your marathon distance and overall there aren't too many events during the year, so I'd say you going to be fine with this.0
