Do you have any new goals? Are you still working on current goals? What is the one thing (or two or more) that you would like to accomplish this year?

I'm about to go on a month long paid sabbatical from work (perk for 25 years w/our company) and during that time 9 days will be in Costa Rica.
So I'm continuing with my current goals of losing inches and body fat % and building some strength/muscle. Looking forward to increasing my activity/workouts during my sabbatical instead of being sedentary @ a desk!
I'm liking what I'm seeing and so is my husband. We usually work out separately (at home) so the other day he walked by when I was lifting to my ChaLean and he was shocked at my arms and back during a lift. :smooched:
I plan to continue to learn and search for new workouts to keep me interested and keep my body from getting too used to a workout.
I would really like to lose the final belly fat this year. It won't be easy, but I feel the muscles right underneath, just got to firgure out what works for me to burn it.
Still working on cleaning up our meals. We're trying to get away from pre-packaged, but it's definitely a work in progress.

Here's to a fantastic 2013 everyone. Decide. Commit. Succeed.

  • Great thread! I am always interested in learning more about what other's goals are. As for me...I plan on continuing on this journey of lifting heavier. I've been really pleased with the changes I've noticed and want to keep working hard. I also want to incorporate more HIIT workouts into my routine, I've been reading about some great results folks here have had with these type of workouts and last but never least....the DIET. The hardest part for me....going to work on cleaning it up and making other changes... less wine, less sugar, processed food, white flour. I think (well really I know) this is key to slimming my core. My 30th high school reunion is this summer and I'd like to show off some real muscles! HAHA. Happy New Year Friends!

Hummm good question,. I know i want to start exercising again but not to push it to much since I hurt my knee want to take it slow. I know that I want to cut out all sugary stuff like cookies, cakes etc. I did it for 6 days with out it and i have to say i felt a lot better. I wasn't as tired as I usually am. This one is gonna be BIG for me as i have such a sweet tooth but I know i can do it.
Try to stay away from the already gluten free stuff, this could take some time. :)
My goal has always been to get to 127 by my birthday by the time i turn 50 ( yikes did I say 50) and that is in 3 months so I know i am gonna have to really work at this.
When it comes to exercise I know i need to mix it up a bit as that is not what i was doing before. Lift weights more too. I have a lot to conquer this coming 2013. Bring it on!!

Sounds like we have some solid gosls ladies, let's make sure we have a plan to go after them with a venegance and accomplish what we set out to do. We are strong, we are determined, we are capable!
    Here's to a fantastic 2013!

    P.S.
I just realized this May will be MY 30 year high school reunion too! I didn't go to the 25 but I went to the 20, so we'll see if I go this year. It's a 5 hour drive for me and I will have just been there 2 weeks before for my nieces' graduation. Still something to plan to look 'hott' for!

I have never been a fan of setting goals, especially at the new year. Not sure why. I think because things change for me any given day. I do really good at lent and even better at keeping that mentality through the year(s). Maybe because lent is more important to me than Jan 1.

I commend folks who do it and complete their goals, especially the ones regarding spending or humanity. Those are the most difficult for most, it seems.

I get overwhelmed if I set big goals so my goals are mostly little ones, all building up to a larger prize in mind -- Living healthily into old age with as few (or no) medications as possible.

I will lose the last 12 lbs to get to my goal weight by March.
I will tone the old saggy flesh up a bit; losing body fat leaves saggy skin, alas! But weights are boring, boring, boring -- so I plan to swim more often, bicycle the great paths all around me, get outdoors more often.
If you all can do it, I can do it. If I can do it, you can do it!

Happy New Year, every one of you lovely Ladies Who Lunch!

    Just added another goal.
    Complete P90X.
We just ordered it so it will be maybe about a week before we can start, but I'm excited. We'll see how I feel after the first couple of workouts!

I'm walking a half marathon 2/17/13, and after that I'm considering doing a bulk phase. Haven't really decided. May just shake up my workout plan again. Need to stick to my plan in order to keep maintaining my weight (assuming no bulking)--my 30th high school reunion is in the fall. Only a couple of hours away, and I missed 25, so hoping to make 30, and want to be in great shape!

Ditto! I have been at maintenance for a few months now - but here are my "commitments", not goals, not resolutions, but real commitments for 2013:

    1) Maintain my weight between 127 and 131 pounds (so far so good!)
    2) Get to and maintain a 10 minute mile run
    3) Barre 3 28 Day challenge completed, and incorporated into my life style
    4) Take barre adult ballet class live and make it through!

My goal is to enjoy life more! As I just celebrated my 60th birthday, I don't want to deprive myself of any of life's little pleasures, but to learn to do so in moderation. I have achieved my goal weight and I feel great, so as long as I can maintain this lifestyle, I plan to do so. The good thing about being older is that I don't feel the need to keep up a strenuous exercise program. I have nothing to prove to anyone but myself, so I will continue to walk on my treadmill because that keeps me moving and strong. I want to be able to enjoy my family and keep up with the grandchildren. My husband and I are planning for retirement and looking forward to more travel. The future looks bright! Bring on 2013!! I am ready for it!

I plan on continuing what I'm doing!
    - keep tweaking my daily diet to include more vegetables
    - cook more, eat out less
    - continue increasing my workouts including incorporating some ideas from New Rules of Lifting for Women

Jan/Feb marks 1 year with my new knees so I need to keep improving my lifestyle!

I just want to keep going and get to my goal weight. Got a 35th high school reunion this summer and would like to attend if I can lose the weight. Also having knee surgery this year (arthroscopic - for meniscus tear).

My goal is to write in my food diary EVERY day, even the days I go over. Everything I eat will be written down. Before, if I knew I was over, I would just stop writing. Not this year.

Good plan! Your body keeps track whether you write it down or not. Be honest with yourself and you'll not only learn but you'll learn to adjust.
