Exercise for increasing back pain... :(

Are there any exercises anyone would recommend for increasing back pain? I am in my second trimester and find that I can't even walk when my sciatic nerve gets pinched... I don't want to completely stop exercising... but I get scared to think I may not be able to walk after a workout. Any suggestions?

Do you have access to a pool?

Pelvic tilts also help a lot.

I actually see a chiropractor who adjusts my spine when my sciatic nerve gets pinched. Seems to help quite a bit. I've also found that being on all fours and slowly stretching the leg on the side of the pinched nerve out (straightening it) and slightly lifting it once straightened helped too.

I had a pinched nerve over xmas. I felt like such an old lady with it and those shooting pains.... yikes!! I did do some back stretches, but they didn't seem to work. What I *think* did the trick was sleeping on my side with a pregnancy pillow (i'm sure any pillow not too fluffy would do) between my lower legs. The nerve got better have two nights of this and it usually doesn't get fixed that fast.

I went through this too and spent more time in the pool at the gym than usual until the pain subsided so I felt like I was still making progress.
