1: Anything about being active in the church
    2: Too long of profile
3: If the profession has to do with sales I am 85% sure I won't get along with them and will want to punch them after 10 mins
4: Any user name associated with sex aka BigJohnson69
5: "I like to go out but also stay in"

    I'm not big on #1, #4, and #5.

I like people in sales. They usually have solid social skills.

I work with sales people and they just come across as will say anything to get their way.

    I'm in sales  :grumble:

I think it depends what you sell!! And how you sell it!!

Again, agreeing with MM here. Anna, You are the least "sales-y" sales person I know! :flowerforyou:

"My friends made me do this"

Really? You have no say over your own life?

"I never know what to say in these things."

Have you tried talking about yourself? I'd start there.

"I have a good sense of humor."

Have you ever met anyone that seriously thought they had no sense of humor? It's so arbitrary.

    i don't mind them.
as long as you don't think you're God's gift to women.

a friend went on a date yesterday with a guy that had a gym pic up and gave his stats ( which were not ALL that impressive) and then put in his profile that he had "the right to expect a certain type of body on a woman and you'll see why when you see me. " i mean he was ok, but NOT 'all that and a bag of chips' in my opinion.

i was married to a guy that had the ideal body fat % ( single digits) for a guy. his waist was 3 inches SMALLER than this guy, and my ex did not think he had this amazingly ideal male body..... he was actually quite critical of his body and yet was married to me, LOL!!!! i always found that funny.......

    My pet peeves:
    - Shirtless pics
    - I don't know what to write
    - Usernames that have sexual innuendoes
    - If he's in sales, we most likely won't get along....from experience, they can't leave the "selling" at work. They come across as pushy.
    - Someone who talks about how great he treats ladies, how horrible his ex was or just generally rants within his profile.

I admit that I am one that will post the "I'm looking for a relationship, not a one night stand or hookup". I've found that doing this limits the number of creeps that email me. Personal choice, works for me.
  • What are the biggest turn-off's you have when you see a profile (man or woman)?

Personally I can't stand it when ALL the pics are self taken with a cell phone. Either in the bathroom mirror, in the car, lying down in bed. I mean really? Do you interact with people? I mean these days with facebook and people posting/tagging pics, you'd think they could have at least one photo in a social setting.

Group pics where it's not clear who "they" are. Pics with other girls. A friend? Sister? Third cousin once removed? Pics of their kids bother me, no need for that. I'm sure you're an excellent father (or mother) but if you were you'd keep your kids' pics off dating websites, also pics of their pets. And not them playing with a dog or whatever, that's cute. But 3 consecutive pics of the pooch? Really? The only pic of them in a costume, where you can't see their face. Or landscapes. I know what a beautiful sunset looks like, thanks. What do YOU look like? Ugh, so exhausting. :ohwell:

As I was checking a profile for someone that messaged me. I couldn't get past the header "Real women only. I am sick of the bull****".

    "Live laugh love"

    "My kids are my world"

    "I hate drama"

    "I'm sassy and sarcastic"

    "Not looking for sex"

    "Strong and independent"

"I want a man to sweep me off my feet"

i agree with the bathroom mirror pics and the laying down pics.
but, as for the self pics taken with my cell phone, that's about all i have and can take.
90% of my outings are with my kids. and if i take pics it's of them or them and me. or whatever we are doing. if i do happen to go out with friends, the last thing i'm thinking of doing is taking pictures...... not to mention, i only own a cell phone, no digital camera..... so, i don't really have a way of showing that i DO indeed interact with other people, LOL!!!!

Oh, okstupid is really getting on my last nerve. I had one guy email me "We have a 97% match rate, but I looked at your profile and don't see that we have much in common. But thought you'd find that funny." Um.. no, you just wasted a minute of my time reading your pathetic drivel so no, I don't find it funny.

Personal pet peeves for this, or any site:

    - bad grammar and no idea how to spell (but you claim to be college educated.. hmmm)
    - not reading my profile and then asking me "what do you like to do for fun"
    - telling me you love me when you don't even know me
    - telling me how worldly you are, all the places you go, the different ethnic foods you like to make you seem cool... like Tard the Grumpy Cat, I'm not impressed
    - no picture on your profile (for security reasons... like what, you are the President looking for some on the side??)
    - starting off with "I'm married... but we're getting divorced" -- sorry to hear, but reach out once that paper is signed. I don't touch married anything
    - no profile -- just random, small things thrown up there ... I could just easily date a cardboard box that will have just as much personality
    - photos from 10 years ago (you can tell by clothing and hairstyles)
    - using pet names.. um, no thank you.

It might take some money, but you can do excellent self shots with a digital cam and a tripod. An average digi-cam will run about $150 and an average tripod will run about $75 or so.

So for sh!ts and giggles I reopened my okcupid profile. Updated some pics and off I go into the land of the jokesters.I look at online dating as a potential tool but one that I'm not very reliant on.Talking to a guy up in broward county (45 min away) about books and martial arts. So far I think I made another friend lol...

The ones that get me though.
    Anything overly religous
Telling us how important your mom/ sister is in your life
    Text speak on your profile
    No pic
    No face pic
When they fill out nothing on the discription side (hieght , body type, smoker, drinker, ect.)
lots of picture with your animals...

I have a dog. She lives in the backyard where dogs belong lol.

First, it took you more than a minute to write this. Why pretend your time is so valuable?

Second, who doesn't love Fozzy Bear?
