I just read this from Scott Hahn that he posted on the Feast of Mary, Mother of God:
"May the Blessed Virgin Mary, whom we venerate today as the Mother of God, help us to contemplate the face of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. May she accompany us in this New Year, and obtain for us and for the whole world the gift of peace.
We may ask: How can we experience that peace in ourselves, in spite of problems and anxieties? The answer is given to us by the readings of today’s liturgy. The biblical texts ask us to contemplate the interior peace of Mary. She does not get agitated by events greater than herself....This is the interior peace which we need to have amid the confusing events of history, events whose meaning we do not grasp and which disconcert us.
