So glad you are joining us~
Our challenge goes from January 4 to our own Independence Day--July 4 :explode: This challenge is for those of us who benefit from starting an Elliptical practice or implementing a new one or continuing maintenance on the Elliptical and want to push the work-outs up a notch! Especially to see a difference come Spring and Summer:flowerforyou:
The *MAIN* challenge is to get in as many days on the Elliptical as you can each month! Each month we will tally up how many days we were able to get in the Elliptical workout the previous month: We also will weigh in and if you like --you can post inches~
Weigh in please--once a month on the 4th.
And on July 4th--we will share on July 4th--share how many days total in 6 months we ellipticalized! Yes-I made up that word!
So this is what Monthly Stats look like:

Each Month of the challenge there will be a mini-challenge --JANUARY, FEBRUARY, MARCH, APRIL, MAY, JUNE, JULY ---there will be 2 HOT BODY CHALLENGES OF THE MONTH. They will be adjusted for Beginner Intermediate Advanced.
1. Elliptical--2 Nutrition
For example--Ellip
January might be upping the resistance--
February might be three 3 days in a row--etc
March--five 60 minute work-outs
General Nutrition--Water--Sugar intake--
Elliptical Example
Resistance Level 10 for 30 days of the month--Advanced
Resistance Level 7 for 20 days..........................Intermediate
Resistance Level 0-4 for 10 days............................Beginner
Nutrition example
Abstain from refined Sugar- 30 days
Advanced
Abstain from refined Sugar- 7 days
Intermediate
Abstain from refined Sugar....1 day........................Beginner
These are just examples~~ You do not have to do any of the mini-challenges. If you just want to participate in the MAIN challenge--please feel free to work on just that challenge if you like! It is certainly challenge enough by itself!

You can call me BeeJ (my initials)
1. For the "before" picture, you will find one in my Profile collection as of Christmas Eve 2012. FYI, I only ever use avatars or metaphors as my Main Photo. Between March 2012 and yesterday, I was ALWAYS "The Cat"
2. Ramp up intensity of maintainable distance-at-speed. Right now, I could do 60 mins (with almost no stop between the 2 30-min sets) at sufficient tempo to keep my hr ~138 bpm. But currently, trying to do the 4-5 miles in that time would be putting the HR way outside my fat-burning zone.
3. See the January Mini-Challenge entry for how I integrate Wii Fitness games into keeping me motivated by giving myself scrolling scenery to "run through". I also get to watch for "family&friends" Mii's either running towards me or passing me.
Also, I only use my HR beats-per-minute as my pace-gauge. and my HRM only monitors heart-beats - nothing else (it is an older model)
4. IF you are interested in an Elliptical Buddy, Friend me. But please include in the Friend Request that you are part of this Challenge, so I know who I'm Friending.

1. here are my before pictures taken 2 days ago, no holding it in either (this was hard I always try and hold in my stomach when I am taking my pictures :-) )
2. My personal goals in this challenge is to get back to the gym and back on the elliptical. Start losing weight and start eating better.
3. I am a mom of 3 going to school...again. And hope to go to Africa some day go on a safari and help in an orphanage.0 -
