soda

I am so addicted to fanta and coke. I cannot drink diet sodas as I am allergic to the artificial sweeter that they use. Any body have a way to kick sodas all together?

Try switching to carbonated water with lemon or lime, but be aware that soda has a huge sugar/caffeine boost that carbonated water won't give you. You might want to try some tea too for a bit to limit the caffeine withdrawal. Good luck!

I can sometimes do a peppermint tea in place of a fizzy drink. Otherwise, I replace drinks with soda water and freshly squeezed lime.

I switched to coffee and juice for when I'm craving a bit of sugar. I also do limits so if I do drink pop it isn't over the top. My limit is one cup of coffee a day (or other caffeinated beverage) and one glass of something else that isn't caffeinated (juice, milk, etc). Then if I want to drink more than that it has to be water. This helps me get my water for the day.

I know it sounds silly, but just don't buy them. When you get a craving for soda, drink water or tea. It won't take too long to get over the cravings :)

I had a HUGE soda addiction. I mean, I drank nothing but diet pepsi, for years! Switched it to mainly water and it took awhile to get over the caffeine headaches but they're gone now. I do have a can in the morning (it's my coffee, don't judge) and can in the evening, usually with dinner. As long as you're not going overboard with it I don't see a problem with it, in moderation of course.

I don't drink soda but I heard that you can make ice cubes out of lemon/lime juice or any other juice and put it into club soda. Even artificial sweeter turns into sugar. Carbs are complex sugars. For every Splenda packet I use, I get 1 carb. It is not refined like white sugar so the body has to work harder to digest it.

I used to drink 1-3 cans of rootbeer a day when I was at home; when I finally got serious about losing some weight, I decided to totally cut soda for 2 weeks as one of my first personal challenges. It's now been about 5 weeks, and I've stopped craving them completely! I have had maybe 3-4 sodas in that time (a rootbeer on christmas, and a coke/coke zero mix when I order Subway) and they're nowhere near as tasty as I used to find them. Challenge yourself to cut them out for one day/3 days/days that have T's in and before you know it you wont be drinking them at all!
