Morning ladies! I am just learning about SL and really want to get started soon! Really need to incorporate weight lifting so I can get strong!
However, it is almost impossible for me to get to a gym (sahm to 4 young kids, hubby works crazy unpredictable hours), so I need to figure out a way to do this at home. Could you please tell me what the bare minimum equipment is needed to start? My husband has some equipment, but not sure it's what I need. I've never really checked it out before....
Thanks in advance!

barbell, plates, bench, squat rack would be the bare minimum. Actually a squat stand would be fine too, if you're careful, or even if the bench has a place to rest the bar you might be able to back into it and grab the bar from there (its not ideal since its a little more difficult).
Some people without access to a squat rack do front squats or hack squats but since those require your arms to get involved they're not ideal (and you won't be able to lift as much). They'll do to get started though.
Ideal set up is barbell, plates, bench, and power rack because the power rack lets you bench to failure without a spotter or needing to do the roll of shame.0 -
You could also try looking into gyms with free day care, or finding another SAHM that wants a couple hours of free time 3x/week and trade babysitting. Where there's a will there's a way! Good luck.0

Cool, thanks so much! Off to the basement to dig around.
Good idea on the swapping, I'll look into that!
Thank you both!0
