Aliens: Colonial Marines

Not sure who's been keeping an eye on this, but I now officially know what I'll be doing in February. I've always avoided the Alien games because I'm such an Alien fan/nerd, and the games always go so far into left field it isn't funny...or they are just broken games. Either way it usually ends in disappointment; however, GBX is really pulling out the stops with this game, and they even got access to the original story boards, stills, and Ridley Scott!
Here's an excerpt from the official Media/Info thread on GBX's forums, and is ultimately what brought me off the fence, and into the party:
10. How accurate to the movies will A:CM be?
Gearbox have said they are looking to make a faithful and authentic Aliens experience for the fans. They are going back to the original classic pure Alien movies for inspiration, with both ALIEN and ALIENS being the main inspiration for the game, but also using expanded universe materials like the Aliens Colonial Marines Technical Manual by Lee Brimmicombe-Wood. On top of that, Fox has given Gearbox access to all the original mixed and un-mixed sound recordings from the films, along with all the production stills, Gearbox went and examined the original films print to make sure they could duplicate the unique grain and colour tone, and they even have a functional Motion Tracker replica along with their own real-life working M41A Pulse Rifle, built from a M1A1 Thompson submachine gun and a shotgun. See, Episode 13 of the Jace Hall Show.
I highly recommend checking this thread out; http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=122318
Excuse me while I go geek out for a bit now.

I am with you. I am actually getting two versions of the game. PS3 and the WiiU to take advantage of the gamepad. I saw the trailor. Definately want it, but like all things, the review needs to be seen. If it scores higher than a 6.0, it's a buyer.0

I tend to ignore reviews. There are games that got horrific reviews that I absolutely love, so... Also, it's GBX so I have very high hopes.0

In Gearbox we do trust. I have yet to play anything they make that is considered bad.0

I know Duke Nukem Forever got horrid reviews, but I haven't played it yet so I can't judge. I also don't know if GBX was the developer, or just published it.0

Gearbox never missed and this game has been on my radar since being announced. I really wanted the SE with Aliens model loader.0
