Hello Ladies,
I am Sam and I am about to be 28 years old. I am 6'1" and currently weight 280 (288 was my highest weight ever). A part of me things I have no idea how I got here, but then I can tell you a millions ways I got here.
I have always been "big," not necessarily fat, but big. In 6th grade I wore a size 14. But I grew up a very active person. Bike riding, roller-blading, I lived at the pool in the summer, etc. And then came sports, I played volleyball, basketball, softball, and ran track from 6th - 12th grade. I was athletic and fit, but I was still big.
Then came college...first couple years were ok. Then the weight started to pack on. My senior year I got down to the lowest number I remember 215, but I was starving myself, doing Power 90 everyday, and taking Hydroxycut (not healthy!). Then for the next several years, after I graduted and got a desk job, I fluctuated between 240-260. Then I got married (May 2012) and I have no idea what happened. But next thing I know I can't do anything: bend over to tie my shoes without dying, fit into anything, walk up stairs, etc.
I don't look like I am 290, I think my height hides a lot of my weight, but I definitely feel like I am. Something hit my after I got on the scale recently. I know now is the time to change my life, and get back to the Sam that I remember and sometimes think I still am...
I now have 3 young step-kids to keep up with, and hopefully kids in my future. I am also currently studying for the CPA which takes up a lot of my time, but I try to exercise as much as possible. I LOVE any dance game on the Xbox Kinetic, and I want to get back into running with my dogs. I ran a 5K 2 years ago and it was one of the best feelings in the world. Can't wait to do that again. And eventually I want to do a half-marathon in Disney. I'm a Disney freak!
I am so excited to be a part of a group of women who are on the same journey. Anyone feel free to friend me.

I think with a little help and encouragement, you can reach you goal weight.
What are your weight goals?
I'm planning on doing a daily or weekly post about different subjects like how to exercise quickly or recipes.
Please keep in touch, you sound like a lot of fun!

Yea, Disney is my favorite place in the world! And now that I have kids I feel like I have a better excuse of making it our family vacation destination.
I honestly don't know what my ultimate goal weight is since I can't remember anything under 215. But I do remember at 215 I will wanted to lose some and my doctor at the time said she would like to see me at 200. So I am going to shoot from 199 (onederland) and then reevaluate. The "healthy" weight range for my height varies a lot (155 - 183), but I am probably always goign to be on the higher end. I'm just a "big" girl.
And I'll definitely stick around, and I can't wait for the daily/weekly posts and getting to know everyone here!0 -
