In no state is it illegal to own a gun and most places permit concealed carry. Yet in MANY places it is illegal to own a taser, which, while dangerous, is usually not lethal. What's the deal with that? Why does the NRA fight for my right to have a lethal gun, but not a (usually) non-lethal self-defense device? Aren't they both "arms"?

Tasers can be used offensively to rob or abduct. As a woman I'd rather face a gun, because no one is getting me to a 'second location' alive if all they have is a gun.
And if anyone ever does taser me and I survive, I will hunt them down and shoot them. I hate those things. (And I will never piss the cops off enough to give them reason to use one on me, either!)0 -
Actually, it's legal to own a taser in 45 states. Hawaii, DC, NY, NJ, MA, and RI outlaw them. Interestingly enough, those are states with stricter than average gun control laws as well.

The NRA doesn't give two ****s about any of your rights, including your right to bear arms. Everything they do has the ultimate goal of making more money for the gun industry. It's not about your right to own a gun, it's about their ability to sell you a gun.0

Newsflash!!! No one cares about YOUR rights except for YOU. If you are lucky there may be organizations out there whose agenda may assist you in securing the rights you care about.0 -

I'm aware of this. I was just answering OP's question.0
