Just a random survey as I have just noticed my hotmails are up to 17000!! I'm sure I deleted some at some point, but I dont really bother.
Does anyone else read and delete?
Or am I a hoarder?
Can you imagine the gazillions of undeleted emails taking up cyber space?? :noway:

HAHA! I never used to delete them. However, I do delete them now just because it is so easy to keep on top of things with my phone. I even organized all the business transactions in to keeper folders. Makes life so easy!0

I do usually delete them on my phone because I hate when there's an icon saying "x" over the email icon. But on my laptop never0

I delete unless it's something that I might want to reference later, then I have organizing folders... I don't know how many are in there O_O0

I have a terrible habit of not deleting them, because I feel like if I delete them, then will decide it is something I need.
This is probably because at work.....my boss will sometimes ask me for an email that is from several months past--we delete NO emails for this reason, so I think it just passed on to my brain for my personal email0 -
Every now and then I'll get really sick of seeing all the emails and clean it out. Usually when it gets around 500.0

i delete all over 50 emails! On my work account, I create folders but also delete work emails as well. If it isnt current I get rid of it, I dont like to go through a bunch of crap to get to **** I need.0

Every day I delete them .. lol. I am a bit OCD about that. Not sure why .. I just do.0

I delete unless it's something I might want/need again. Then it goes in a folder. (I think I'm under 15 folders.) And I go back through those folders periodically and delete from there too.0

I delete daily. My inbox is usually less than 10. Things I archive in folders I usually keep for 2 years, then delete.0

Do you have ALL your emails going to your phone??? Even hotmail junk?? I only have my business emails going there, otherwise it would drive me mad pinging all the time.....arghhhhh!!!0 -
Wowzer! some seriously organised people here. I do delete spam/junk immediately, but everything else just sits there and I don't know why. Apart from business, where I have to keep all client communication 'just in case', I have no idea why I keep friends saying hello or somthing - for prosperity maybe. I'm the same with texts!! There are currently 2000 texts on my phone :noway:
I think I must be OCD e-hoarder...... :laugh:0 -
Anna, I was that way with texts on my old phone. I had some hilarious ones saved and when I got my iPhone I read them all again before activating my iPhone. Now with the iPhone I never have to delete any and I love it!!0

Gmail advertised their email box saying you do not need to delete an email, ever. My email box is currently 6% full, using 0.6 GB of your 10.1 GB. Sounds true to me, so far.
Gmail mailbox includes the very efficient search functionality (all your email are constantly indexed). It takes about 1.5 seconds to run a search on the word "chocolate" apparently.
Frankly, I delete stuff when I think about it, or want to, but won't be losing sleep over not doing it.
I flag stuff constantly though, for reading it later and put the very important stuff in folders.0 -
I delete hotmail emails. I keep everything from my main account and store them in folders.0
