Getting comfortable adjusting to the new you...

A few years ago, I ventured on losing weight to feel comfortable in my own skin. Personal trainer, workouts, eating right....and then suddenly I went from 199 to 169 in 3 months and I was amazed at how much my hard work really paid off but when I looked in the mirror, I didn't really notice the big change and I guess I didn't give myself enough time to "savor" my victory although I still had a couple 30 more pds to goal to reach my goal weight. Nonetheless, I've been wondering if you've ever had trouble adjusting to the new you and if you meet the new you in the near future, how do you think you'll handle the drastic change. I guess I was happy with myself but I didn't give myself enough credit, time or faith that I could go all the way. The support of my MFPals, family, and friends though have really made me BELIEVE IT this time around.

I am so happy I just saw this topic: because this was one of the really big problems I faced until very recently. Going from 297 to 180(ish - no scales at uni so I'm not sure of my progress right now!) is a massive jump, but I didn't recognise it or give myself credit for it until very, very recently. I would just look at myself and see the same girl, tell myself what I had failed to achieve, etc, etc.

LATELY I have noticed the change - feel a bunch more confident and it's great. But I think some of us definitely find it harder than others to recognise and even accept the change with our bodies :)
