The pop ups

Hey everyone! I know I haven't been around much. With the holidays and moving last week, not to mention my boy toy, I haven't been on.

Something popped up this morning and I was just wondering why. Before B, I was dating this guy off and on for months. Mostly he was doing a push you pull you thing and it never amounted to much, except in my head. I was pretty invested in him and while he talked a good game about his feelings for me, there was very little action. I got over it and moved on.

Now, three months later (he knows I have a boyfriend), he randomly texts me this morning asking how I am, blah blah blah. Why? If I were free and in the mood for an emotional roller coaster, I would have texted him. He said he was going through his phone and realized we hadn't talked for awhile so he texted me. He is fully aware of how I felt about him and knows that we had some weird, probably unhealthy thing going on.

So I guess my questions are:
1) Why did I get butterflies when I saw his text? I know we are a train wreck and I am very happy with B.
2) What is the deal with the random pop ups? Why?

I haven't had much coffee this morning so my thread is probably very disjointed. I apologize for that. :)

My advice is to ignore all communication with him. He sounds like bad news. No responding to texts, ignore the butterflies. Some people are better not in your life. My 2 cents...

It sounds like it would create drama...

The delete button was invented for this person. Delete this person from your contact list and ignore all texts/calls from that number.

Oh no, I agree. I am not going to continue communicating with him. It is absolutely unnecessary.

I guess my question was more, why do guys do this?

He has been deleted for months. Unfortunately I have a bizarrely good memory for numbers so I knew who it was.

He's short on prospects right now and horny.

    I corrected it for you...

You got butterflies because you had feelings for him silly. I think that always happens. I got a text from my marine last night and I got butterflies as well .. but I know that is not a workable relationship. But .. it is also nice to know that someone is thinking about you.

I think that people get bored or lonely or whatever and they go to where they are comfortable. Plus.. it is easier to send a text. Imagine back in the day when you would have to pick up the phone to reach out to someone .. that probably would have deterred the contact.. but it is so easy to send the text.

I send random texts to someone when they pop into my head and I just want to see how they're doing.

I dont have a problem being friends with ex's tho. In fact I'm dead against cutting ties with someone I once had feelings for, unless he was a complete douche!!

Why did you get butterflies should be the question... and what do they mean?

You have neurons in your stomach, like all of us. Funny body that does funny things to us, eh?

So yeah. Just ignore your bloody stomach! Does it think it can control YOU!
