Anyone in Durham?

I have tickets for the Ashes Test in August and am after some advice on where the best area to stay is. I'd assumed the cricket ground would be in Durham itself but have just discovered it's actually in Chester-le-Street. I have no idea where these places are in relation to each other, so don't know if it's easy/feasible to travel to the cricket from Durham, or whether we'd be better off staying closer to the ground.

Grateful for any advice.

    Chester Le Street is maybe 20 miles from Durham but very easy to get to by Train only one stop from Durham not 100% sure where the station in Chester le street is but defo in walking distance of the ground.

    Would also recommend staying in Durham as its a beautiful city and Chester le street is a little run down
